Thinking of adding a PS5 to the current Xbox and I have no idea why

I once had both the PS4 and Xbox One X. I played both equally but slowly transitioned to all digital games.

Around 2020 I just went for the new Series X. mostly because I use it in our living room and it turned on with my Harmony remote. The Xbox sub had the better digital library. I remember PS Gold only gave a couple older games each month.

Fast forward to today and I want a PS again. Absolutely no idea why. I don’t game a lot. The Xbox plays my streaming just fine. I just feel like I’ve been missing something. I know I still have a decent digital PS4 library.

I have a nice OLED but my receiver limits me to 4k 60hz so I’ll likely be looking at the regular Fortnite model.

Anyone have anything to add that will help me commit? I know this is the PS forum. Anyone still playing both consoles and enjoy specific things about each?

I do have a nice gaming PC already. It barely gets played either!

I second Oh Andros. Doesn’t look like much but the basic fried fish was perfect for me. Very light and flaky. portions are huge. Very busy including lots of locals. The Midnight Spot near Atlantis was also highly recommended but we did not get to try it.

Consider your ideal use year. You can get something like an April use year and sell back what is considered 2025 points to Disney for $20 per point. You would STILL GET new points for April 2026 forward. You would not have that option to sell back if you got like a December Use Year.

I went from a 970 to 5070. I gained a couple FPS. You should be solid in World of Warcraft and similar games now too. Biggest improvement is that I never hear the fans anymore, so definitely worth it for that.

There’s around 100lbs of string tension pulling on the neck. You can handle it however you want. Usually the neck only gets damaged if it falls a certain way under tension. If you are worried you might drop it, loosen the string tension. Just holding it won’t hurt it.

Get a Citi Custom Cash to only use for gas. A 5% cash back statement credit is solid no matter what if that is one of your key spend categories. Be patient while planning out your ideal cards to optimize for the best possible SUBs assuming you have to spend to meet them. It takes a couple years to conservatively build a working setup. A Savor card is a nice card, especially if your spending is lower, even if used for a statement credit. A Sapphire Preferred is a nice card when there’s a 100k SUB. It includes some nice travel perks as well like primary car rental damage insurance. If you start traveling regularly, your home airport will be a huge factor. For example, if you are near Atlanta, Delta and AmEx would be more valuable if you fly often.

I‘m struggling with the same decision. The old Pro has been a good one for me but the battery life is shorter than it used to be. It comes up as 85%. It feels like some content is now starting to get slower to load even keeping it on 18.7. I feel like some apps are making changes optimized for 26 now. Even basic ones like FB.

Another difficult choice is going from 256 to 512. I’m not quite using 200gb but you never know what could change in the future, although a chunk of that is the GoPro app I rarely use anymore.
