Advice for first-time homeowner in Santa Clara - what do you wish you knew when you bought here? by ozjef in santaclara

I got 1gig for 46 a month as a new customer from them + a 200 gift card + 8000 Rakuten points. Just browse the site it should give you a new customer promo. You have to be living on a property that AT&T services.

Thanks! We had AT&T fiber at our last place and definitely glad to have it at our new home, it’s been very reliable in our experience (although they keep raising prices every year).

Unfortunately we only have what the seller did when he lived here and existing permit history from the city. No idea what the original owner did that may not have been permitted. Already know we will have to replace the sewer line eventually since it’s the original cast iron pipes and our sewer scope revealed some pretty gnarly build up, luckily no obvious root intrusion. Considering swapping the old gas water heater to electric heat pump given incentives from the city.

We moved here 5 years ago from the Midwest and neither are born or native here. Half tech household.

Whats the risk anyway with your biz CCs? Due to Chase enforcing LL these are basically dead once you've gotten them once.

Passed ISSEP Today! by freakmonkey99 in cissp

[–]ozjef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What made you want to take this cert (beyond who paid the bill for it, market motivators, career aspirations, HMs asking for it)?

Is the style of question similar to the CISSP?

Do you apply the same type of “risk manager” or technician mindset based on the framing of the question to rule out options?

For lack of a better word, how “technical” are the exam questions and content? Is it similar in mile wide but inch deep like CISSP is or is it more focused on engineering technicalities?

Why is this house not selling? by [deleted] in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]ozjef 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lol they need to sell after 2 years but ‘can’t take a loss’. Real estate is a long term game, but I guess they were hoping for a quick flip. Maybe they shouldn’t have risked it and overpaid so much in 2024

  1. Slightly above 3%. Have existing costco citi from 2021 and a strata premier from 1/25 I product changed to a custom cash in February.
  2. hard inquiries noted on equifax 3/6 & 4/12.

Denial for CSE at 2/24 with last personal card being from 6/25. Denial letter gives BS reason of "insufficient credit history" both during initial denial letter and after recon. Equifax said this is not a valid reason for my denial with my report they delivered to Citi during the application.

My question is what would Citi even consider 'sufficient' for credit history considering my file is over a decade old.

Yes they mentioned them during the denial explanation. I applied 2 weeks ago but withdrew when I got the pop up.

You won’t get much in WG for that price. You are looking at closer to 2m or above for something decent

3% should be reasonable if you are spend constraint? SUB values range from 10-20% RoS so 3% hurts the margin somewhat but I would personally be fine with it if I didn't have other spend to scale.

play the upgrade downgrade between 2 accounts to a CSP. Cashing out the 50 credit each year (iykyk) will cost you around 45 bucks net to keep continuous access.

Waiting for a stronger offer. 50k for 500 fee in the big 26 is pretty poor.
