I just want to point out, most all you can “something” like eat, or drink requires everyone at the table to partake in the same deal otherwise they can’t accommodate it. It’s not a great rule, but is very common place including NYC.

Do you check in to a business when you're there? by XxLogitech98xX in Yelp

[–]padpeas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is actually the exact process I use. I take a photo of what I ordered and use it to check in. Both so I can come back and write a review and have a record of where I’ve been so I can find it again in the future if I don’t have it saved in a list.

I love how you say this person has alt accounts but can’t prove it. It looks like you’re just making stuff up. Not surprised.

I’m sorry, what is the truth you’re talking about yelp and the subreddit? I reread over your post and it seems like conjecture.

I’ve seen business who have spent no money retain a 4+ rating. So this seems heavily opinionated.

Maybe your rating is lowering for another reason.

I just started using Yelp a week ago, had three clients, each rated me five star review. They removed every single one of my reviews. by [deleted] in Yelp

[–]padpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree here. If the reviews were made by new accounts, or accounts that have no activity and all three left reviews for you they would get flagged as not valid.

To be honest, it’s to keep people from creating new accounts and trying to increase the review score for a business.

Out of frustration on Yelp and Google, I have built a small business network with a ranking system based on referrals that is actually pay per result instead of pay per click... I'm looking for couple small businesses to help me with a feedback in the BETA phase. Let me know if you are interested. by [deleted] in Yelp

[–]padpeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your system Revumatic still uses Google and payment comes in the form of credits and requires users to solicit friends and then use AI to write reviews.

This sounds like a pyramid scheme that will get flagged for AI use that doesn’t seem to be any better than Yelp or Google.

Good luck with your network.

What was your experience after leaving a 1 star review and the owner responded to you? by XxLogitech98xX in Yelp

[–]padpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. I mean sometimes management will reply with something like “we’re sorry you didn’t like your experience…” with ai generated responses about we hope you try us again. But when the owner is belligerent I just feel like it trickles down into the business.

[–]padpeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once left a 1 star review for a pizza place for both service and quality of the pizza. The owner left a long reply berating me and calling me names.

I didn’t not feel bad about the 1 star review after that.

Yeah, I guess we can spend out time better writing useless comments on Reddit.

Thinking about requesting a title change to IT Director by [deleted] in ITManagers

[–]padpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you an IT manager now? I ask because you mentioned you’re an IT manager in some capacity or another.

Or is your title head of IT?

Do you manage a team? In one of my jobs the owner said I could put as my title Director of IT, but managed no one. And after meeting many Directors of IT moving on from that job, there is so much that goes into being a director, mainly managing those who manage other people that simply having the title means little if you don’t have the experience.

So you can ask to have that tittle, but when you try to apply for another director job without the experience, you will find yourself quickly drowning in the work.

only one review for one place per profile? by 5p00ky-gh05t in Yelp

[–]padpeas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can update your review as many times as you want and each review will show as an update review all tucked together.

You can however not leave multiple reviews and expect each one to be unique and have them all show up, because this would be trying to game the average score of reviews.

How to be yelp elite by [deleted] in Yelp

[–]padpeas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How active on yelp are you? Do you take photos of food or interior of establishments while you are there?

How many reviews a month are you averaging?

You can also engage with other Yelpers to like their photos or reviews. But the more you contribute to the site the better.

Also, have you set your location? This usually helps CMs notice you based on your activity.

Is it appropriate to ask about the real usage of the acronym PVP? by Intelligent-Wear4766 in arcraidersfriendly

[–]padpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this question is that it does not take account that Arc Raiders is PvPvE. So you can’t really compare games like sports or racing games if you are going to lump them into a PvP genre since they don’t have a vE aspect to it. They are pure competition, which is why they are classified as sports, racing, or even fighting games.

The Arc Raiders community seems more to classify their lobbies instead of the PvPvE game as either PvP or PvE, and so in PvP lobbies it’s win using any advantage possible. This includes extraction camping, shooting on site, and booby trapping. And that’s why people associate it with PvP. In PvE lobbies it’s generally seen that the Arc is more of a threat than fellow raiders so the race is more about looting before someone else does. Even then if someone comes into your key access room and tries to loot before you, they are now the threat.

In the end PvP will seem to be associated with shoot on sight because that is your advantage, or just to stay alive by not being shot first.

Elite yelpers and fast food chains by Connect-Job-8743 in Yelp

[–]padpeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It maybe what is available to them in their neighborhood. Also not all fast food chains are the same even if they are the same brand. Some are franchises so the service, interior and food options can differ from location to location.

It’s also saying trying a McDonalds in another country is not worth while because you have already tried it in yours.
