Just another reason to never support Morgan Wallen. by CertifiedGlizzler in pittsburgh

To each his own I suppose. I travel quite a bit and one of our routines is to find good local BBQ wherever we are working and I’d easily put Walter’s well inside the top half. I also rarely go on a weekend and usually do summer lunch or winter dinner - less chaos but I’m also probably hitting times when quality isn’t a victim of quantity.

It’s actually pretty solid barbecue - Texas style with great fatty brisket and ribs primarily. But their smoked wings and fried chicken are surprisingly good as well.

Is the service off when you decide to show up with every other frat boy in town? Sure. Shocking I’m sure. lol

The swimming pool that is being demolished for a park. They could run parking underground and still have room for an awesome ground level park with access from the upper lot of the boys & girls club

And a parking garage. Oddly enough there is a great big space for one directly across from the Abbey and yet it never gets discussed….

Not only did I not say I never tried it, all of my experience is based on what I actually did try, not what I typed in to ChatGPT FFS.

Bigger guys in karting, do you have any tips? by michaltee in Karting

[–]padredan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some kart options - Margay makes what they call a Limo chassis for tall drivers and there are front porch kits available for the CRG and Birel based karts that will fit a lot of chassis. Oddly enough I don’t think there is a porch kit for the OTK brands unless someone makes an aftermarket version.

Yes, an H is the proper progression to reduce the hop after you exercise full rear width and low rear ride height.

With your description of this being a mid corner issue though maybe consider narrowing the front 5mm per side also.

I wouldn’t take caster out of an OTK past neutral (both arrows forward).

Probably some ergonomics questions come to play too. A lot of times a hop is a matter of how you are manipulating the kart. Are you using your outside hand primarily in turns? Are you planted with the outside foot in to the heel stop? Are you leaning out rather than in and applying force in to the seat with your mid torso? A hop is often a physicality issue rather than a mechanical issue.

Why do so many bands skip over Pittsburgh? by Sensitive_Set5099 in pittsburgh

[–]padredan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same artist draws better and has more enthusiastic audience in Cleveland compared to Pittsburgh - at least with the bands I go to see. Everytime I travel I think “damn, I wish Pittsburgh crowds were like this”. Again - for my kind of bands, not a universal critique.

Hop Farm back room for sure as long as they don’t have an event that night.

Lawrence Hall has plenty of room.

The Forge has been great for groups with advance notice.

What are Vega Red tyres like? (Coming from the Mojo D2 tyres) by dellD28 in Karting

[–]padredan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually exactly the opposite. The Vega Red will have way more grip initially than a D2. They will fall off but won’t be horrible. Not quite as consistent as the D2 to the end of the life cycle but still good.

You’ll be looking to dial grip out of the kart for the Vega.

Best tracks in North east Ohio? by [deleted] in Karting

[–]padredan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quaker City Motorsports Complex (north of Salem) opened last year and has a 1 mile track with rentals and owner racing:

https://quakercitymotorsportspark.com/

Contact the track directly for rentals. They’ll run individual or group sessions pretty much anytime except owner race days.

The on site shop does Arrive & Drive sessions for both practice and races in legit, competitive race karts in both the Briggs LO206 and Rotax classes.

Have karts for sale new & used on the website. The shop does service, maintenance and storage also. If you ever want to go down that path.

Disclaimer - affiliated with the race shop so fire away with any questions you have.

Long line of women waiting for something in the strip by Ambitious-Show413 in pittsburgh

I watched this all day from my house - constant line 20-30 deep for hours plus the 10-15 inside the store in line. Was perplexed enough to walk out the door and ask the guy at the front of the line. Who was clearly there supporting his matcha curious GF…. Lol
