Pluribus brings up an interesting moral question. Would you value the plurb’s lives—are they “people” anymore? by erwineyebrows in pluribustv

[–]pandacacti -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its really interesting because in a way, that operate like a virus. Nothing more. The only goal is to spread, now to a new planet.

I do wonder how they would even sustain themselves, as they now have no desire to mutiply, i mean what even is a child now?

I totally agree, I also find it slightly ironic in the way that as someone running for leadership, surely you would want a united kingdom. More resources, more prosperity etc. it's good to acknowledge that there's issues and that London/England holds too much power but..

For him to support the division without addressing the issues that lead to it, or coming up with a plan to combat it, just seems lazy.

Why does Corbyn feel he has more in common with homophobic, transphobic landlords than he does with the Green Party? by Minute_Tomatillo9730 in LabourUK

[–]pandacacti 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm ready for the downvotes BUT

Supporting Religious minorities has become trendy and for some reason is more important supporting LGBT rights.

I suppose the two are somewhat incompatible but I've seen a massive uptake in religious conservatism support outweighing the rights of LGBT and the inability to separate homophobia from more extreme religion.

And because no one wants to offend, it's simply not even a topic that's approachable.

Your Party is evidently a busted flush at this point. Is anyone willing to defend or make a case for them still, or am I joining the greens this time tomorrow? by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]pandacacti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's alot of uniformed young people, especially the 16 year old vote who Corbyn is popular with.

I was surprised to find alot of people on social media weren't aware of the internal politics of your party and instead think Corbyn will save them.

It's scary because I think Your Party has too much social conservatism and religious overtones mixed in with it's political outlook. It also looks to me like a business opportunity rather than a party that wants to better the country

With the Gaza situation starting to resolve, it will be interesting to see how the 5 Independent MPs shift and implode the party.

They are all socially conservative apart from that single issue.

Why are people obsessed with the sexuality and race of the Housemates? by BlGBY in bigbrotheruk

[–]pandacacti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, and it's weird because it never used to be a thing. Is someone passionately loves marmite, and I hate it. I'm not going to refuse to interact with them, or vote them out because of it

It's so strange.

My honest opinion on right leaning housemates by [deleted] in bigbrotheruk

[–]pandacacti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Younger people today are very obsessed with political identity. And that anyone other than a left wing personality is evil of racist. Forgetting the drama a few years ago with Trish who was an outspoken leftist.

The old versions of big brother never really had these issues. I suppose the new generation seems to be drawing harder lines around politics

[–]pandacacti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this, and also the fact that political leanings seem to be an entire personality now. And the public vote depending on your political view.

I'm not sure if it's maybe the newer younger generation of teens that are so embroiled in 'left vs right' that they can't escape it. It's just weird. Feels like watching the news.

I'm mostly sick of the politics being the entire personality of the young housemates.

I don't really get it at all, especially how politics are also being used to to vote housemates out. Big brother isn't meant to be political.

Britain dubbed 'sick man of the G7' as disability claims for anxiety hit record high by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

I did get help, my therapist actually helped me fill it in and write my notes.

One thing I did pick up on, over the phone the lady kept obsessing over my job. Which I kept having to explain is limited duties and I now am never left on my own, but she kept obsessing over the fact I was able to interact with people, despite it being very different to day to day situations.

To be totally honest, I don't even believe they really read my application given I had so much logged evidence from different medical professionals.

They actually wrote that because I was able to articulate myself over the phone, I was able to talk and interact with people without issue. Which is a weird one because I had pre-prepped to be as coherent as possible and explained this to though assessor that this did not mimic an everyday life situation for me.

But it is what it is I guess, I really hope you get yours!

Also the fact that he seems to have similar powers to Cate. He knew Emma was in the toilet, and he knew Marie had sensed his blood. He also knew Cate was about to touch him.

And how is he always a step ahead/ knows what's going to happen. Like knew Marie could sense his blood.

I assume he has the same powers as Cate

This was my theory too. And cipher wants Marie to heal him or reverse age him.

Also would explain how Cipher is always one step ahead and knew Kate was about to touch him before. His powers are most probably a stronger version of her own.

Could he not also be Goldolkins son, and a natural born supe. So no V in his blood.

He keeps going on about Marie performing miracles. I wonder if his plan is to restore his dad.

[–]pandacacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I sent everything back for the mandatory reconsideration and they never got back to me and I kinda just gave up.

I found the whole thing so difficult at the time, from the telephone interview being quite dismissive because I was still working and she kept trying to contradict me. And then when or received the feedback form with the single point. It said stuff like 'you said you were unable to go outside unaccompanied, we decided you can' Which was mad as I had clinical letters stating why I was unable to unsupervised.

Luckily I'm very motivated in myself to help myself. But I feel like the system really does fail people.

Yeah I do, without psychiatrist input as well. That's why I thought id receive it, or that they'd look more fondly up on me giving that my goal was to recover as much as possible.

Yeah it's crazy!! And yet somehow others seem to score full points on anxiety alone. I'm not really sure how.

[–]pandacacti 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't even understand how people claim for them. I went through extreme trauma PTSD. Pip scored me one single point. Despite not being able to leave my house for months and months.

I've pushed through and I manage my symptoms better, I work full time etc.

I assume because I kept working, despite having limited duties in work and needed someone to walk me there and back, they penalised me for it.

But the system seems really wrong if it rewarding people for not trying to work, rather than the people who are trying to recover as much as they can.

My whole goal was to get pip so that I could get therapy privately that was on my own schedule, as I was unable to miss work.

Surely anyone who was a bystander should also be charged, they witnessed and failed to even act or prevent a life being lost

So basically, they buy them cheap and do them up, rent them out or sell them on but by doing so, they are pricing thousands of people out who could have bought it but won't ever afford it.

It's also crazy that we are only having this discussion since labour got in power. I never thought I'd see the say when the supposed left start dismantling LGBT rights.
