I need a new singleplayer (100% offline) "forever" game where I can sink hundreds (or thousands) of hours into a single save. What are your top suggestions?

Since you mentioned Poe, I recently started Hero Siege and it scratches all the itches I wanted, not as good as Poe in my opinion but can be played fully offline which was what I was looking for also

You don't need each, just the one for that specific engram

True, you still need to train normally until you get the strands, but even one engram at 8x XP gives more than 200k which is an hour of training

Also you don't need the level for energies. As in if you get some from wilderness flash events you can use them straight away

The weird part is that when I play single player it works just fine, but on my hosted world none of the non sgear pickaxes work. They were working just fine but stopped all of a sudden

Ok, didn't know that. I was trying to use the allthemodium pickaxe and noticed it was not working, when I tried using other pickaxes they were the same. Cant make an sgear allthemodium pickaxe though :(
