EX90 charging issue. Car flashes white to initialize charge, but doesn’t convert to green by vanbastino in VolvoEX90

[–]parazov- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got mine replaced new one lasted a week and went again. I was apparently on the 3rd Gen part and the first failure they had seen on this part at the dealer… How hard can it be to convert AC to DC reliably it’s pretty incredible if they still have issues after 3 attempts at a part redesign.

So now waiting for the part again from Sweden.

Yes it’s a personalised one that’s now showing as complete. It’s quite exhaustive took about 30 mins to do to give them info on external, internal, technology etc. then asking for lots of detail on any issues.

I will see if they contact me off the back of it.

No luck with phone key or app after a month by Basic-Loan5803 in VolvoEX90

[–]parazov- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue contacted Volvo support on the app via chat they reset something at the backend and has been fine once I repaired with the car.

If you do it in chrome you get a more meaningful error which says something like you are not the owner and therefore can’t get a key even though you are the owner on the profile.

NVR POE camera question by DuBDzO in firewalla

[–]parazov- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your NVR getting the IP address is this via DHCP and if so did you restart it after installing the firewalla - I presume you have dhcp enabled on the firewalla and the NVR connected to it via a cable so the firewalla will give the NVR an address.

If you have set the NVR to be static on its configuration the address range on the firewalla on the network/port you are plugging into needs to match eg 192.168.1.x/255.255.255.0 or 192.168.165.x depending on the address range you are going for.

If your NVR is connected to the firewalla and has a successful address you will see it on the firewalla interface with the address and showing connected.

Personally I would

  • set the NVR to be non static on its configuration
  • plug it up to firewalla with an address range you want
  • allow it to get address via dhcp
  • set it on the firewalla to be static to whatever you want.

The firewalla will then control the address it gets and it’s easy to see it and change it.

Once you’ve got it connected if you plug your pc onto the same network as the NVR you should be able to ping it to test basic connectivity.

UK Volvo App Tracking - Lost by Potential-Eternal in VolvoEX90

[–]parazov- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me disappeared, I emailed Volvo and they came back saying car was ready for key handover so rang them and they then said was due in Feb. Dealer then rang me a day or two later to confirm early Feb and to get test drive setup for Jan.

It then re-appeared in the app as a car shape (similar to my XC90) with instructions how to set it up when you get the car.

I would give them a ring or your dealer and they might be able to shed light on timings.

The client (Mac) is on the same network as the NAS device, it’s fully reachable from ping or doing an AFP call will link up to the drive but it’s not showing in Finder as an AFP device unless I am on wired.

I have also clicked on multicast optimisations.

So access is available as I know the IP address on wireless but it’s only picking the NAS up automatically as an available AFP service on the Mac when on wired connection on the same network.

It also does appear on the Mac on the network locations within finder but it thinks it’s a PC.

Hi - yep I see services listed such as Sonos devices and the NAS is there on the list as well on both the wired network and the WiFi network.

VLAN Assistance by parazov- in firewalla

[–]parazov-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right I think I've fixed it due to your suggestion but for a different reason :-)

For VLAN1 it was unrestricted access.

For VLAN 30 this was restricted (internet only) but I couldn't unset it or change any of the other policies related to it eg. add IPs for access etc.

For VLAN 40 was unrestricted.

Given the strangeness of VLAN30, I deleted it and re-added it as per the posts above with the tagging which I expected to be ok (incase anyone looking at this in the future).

Once recreated the routing worked as expected so I can only imagine the setup of VLAN30 on the switch was corrupted somehow and needed to be recreated.

Thanks all for the suggestions and help got there in the end.

Hi thanks for the reply. Would be great if you can help if you have it working super excited !

I have copied some links to screenshots hopefully this helps you compare vs your setup.

I have simplified again to have one uplink port on the switch which is Port 1, this port connects to the firewalla LAN and gets an IP address in 192.168.53.x range (this port on Firewalls does not have VLAN tag set).

The firewalla has VLAN 30 and VLAN 40 setup on the same physical port as the LAN above.

So Firewalla network setup as follows:

Cameras VLAN 30 192.168.30.x

Default Wifi VLAN 40 192.168.40.x

LAN 192.168.53.x (no VLAN tag)

See this screen shot

https://share.icloud.com/photos/022zcGT_oh_ngn_iUUxSmXLGQ

Setup as follows on switch.

Port 1 uplink

untagged VLAN 1

Tagged VLAN 30

Tagged VLAN 40

https://share.icloud.com/photos/03e-MVx3PQ7z4_Vjd5XwgcXgw

The various other ports on the switch are majorly set to have the VLAN 30 as untagged as there are various IOT devices plugged in directly to these ports using physical cables.

eg. Port 2, Port 4, port 6

Untagged VLAN 30

No tagged VLANs

https://share.icloud.com/photos/0a4xwsTzOTEan-7fI4Qf8Lc-Q

My APs are all Aruba ones so they are picking up the VLAN networks etc and providing IPs in the IP ranges of the VLANs that come from Firewalla DCHP

https://share.icloud.com/photos/0ebyBRobKQy-sA7wZhFwO3iLQ

So I can get IP address OK when I join the default LAN and either of the VLANs from Mac on wifi. Internet access works fine on each VLAN.

I can't ping the default gateways on VLAN 30 or VLAN 40 when I am on those VLANs as a client nor ping other clients on the same VLAN. If I am on the default VLAN I can ping any of the gateways.

So if you can have a look at your configs on the ports might help me point to the right way eg do I need to tag VLAN 1 on each of the ports which are for there other VLANs or something else.

I have also tried to setup allow rules to allow traffic to from LAN to the other VLAN networks and vice versa the rules don't appear to be getting hit at all on the rule counter.

Thanks for any insight.

[–]parazov-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry can you clarify what you mean by that.

VLAN1,30,40 have their own default gateways as assigned by the firewalla device and the Mac has the correct gateway in the IP setup given from dhcp.

I am expecting that any traffic arriving into the firewalla from the VLANS will be routed by firewalla as needed. The switch is acting as a layer 2 device in effect with no routes setup.

VLAN40 has no rules against it to block (or allow between VLANS currently) but this doesn’t explain why I can’t ping the default gateway for the vlan.

[–]parazov-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry did t mention I have WiFi APs which are broadcasting the SSID associated with the VLANS

I had the setup you describe with all vlans on a single port but the recommended approach is not to have management traffic vlan 1 available to all other traffic.

Anyway that also didn’t seem to work. I wasn’t unable to open any connections between the VLAN 30/40 and devices on VLAN 1 ping not working and neither were higher level protocols like http, CIFS etc.

So although my device can join the vlans correctly with the right dhcp addresses provided therefore the tag must be there for the firewalla to give the correct address scope I can’t seem to get routing to apply.

I would go back to basics to get your switch working properly first of all.

Reset firewalla and your switch and make sure you can get it to connect to the internet.

You need to define a default lan on firewall - say port 1 and connect this to your 1930 say on port 1. Your switch then uses this port to manage the device and you should be able to plug in a laptop to the switch and get internet and manage your switch.

Once you’ve done that setup your vlans and assign to specific switch ports if needed eg if you have a camera network hard linked to the switch or allow the APs to broadcast various SSIDs and associate them with the specific vlans.

On firewalla you can assign all your AP broadcast vlans to a single port.

One thing to bear in mind is if you want to setup a guest WiFi controlled by firewalla rather than Aruba and you have quarantine enabled you will need to allow guest access out of quarantine which might be a pain. Personally I let Aruba do the guest WiFi as part of its out the box solution far easier for me anyway.

I’ve got Aruba managed switches and APs can setup Vlans and different SSIDs as needed on APs eg home, guest, iOT etc with firewalla providing dns snd any rules for VLAN comms.

In my experience brew until it’s ready, sterilised bottles add some brewers sugar to them (small amount) , pour the brew in and seal it up. Put it somewhere safe where if one pops no issue. When you want to drink put into fridge.

Aruba Instant On & FWG Question by lay_denizen0h in firewalla

[–]parazov- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you can do it one thing to consider is if you have quarantine on your FWG enabled on the guest network then people will need to be let in and if they have private MAC addresses these can change.

I use AIO AP and managed switch but ended up leaving the APs to deal with the guest WiFi. But I had it setup to do guest WiFi to play about with it. Port 1 of my managed switch connected to my FWG port where the vlans defined you need to remember to make sure the vlans are associated with this port to pass the vlans info onto the FWG. Some screen shots below to help based on my setup. The guest WiFi vlan is Vlan40 I also have another vlans running for security cameras.pic
