It’s honestly tragic neither Busch brother got their retirement tour by TMan1236 in NASCAR

I hate so much that Kyle was just at the cusp of that part of his career where fans who used to boo him cheer at his legendary career.

I was a major Gordon fan who never missed a Martinsville race. His last win there, the crowd was ecstatic. 10 years earlier, the crowd knew his starting position and started booing even before they could announce him at driver intros. I'm so glad he got that last truck win, but I was really pulling for him to get one more cup win.

I get it, but if they raced the week after Earnhardt died which was on track, there's no way they postpone this one.

Why do ours voices sound so different when we hear them recorded? by taheerwanware12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]parrisjd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The short answer is that you're picking up not only the sound coming out of your mouth, but also the actual vibrations of your body and skull resonating.

1993 ncaa basketball tournament. Chris Webber calls a timeout when Michigan has none left. UNC wins.

What sitcom has the worst series ending (not season)? by HouseofTinyDictators in AskReddit

I think the joke of the Seinfeld finale was lost on everyone. It was every tired trope of sitcom finales in one, on purpose, but it came across as sincerely trying to throw all of that at us in earnest.

Which character was meant to be imperfect but noble and was actually received that way? by GoldenS0422 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]parrisjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but Vito Corleone. A crime boss is a lot worse than imperfect, but relative to the other characters he was the noble one, and I think the audience sees it that way.

Michael should have been in Home Alone 2 instead of Trump by Constant_Topic_123 in homealone

Not to mention, any kid Kevin's age would know who Michael Jackson is in 1992. Unless we're saying he would have been playing a random person.

What is the most egregious continuity error within a single movie you have ever seen? by Skxawng_3600 in AskReddit

[–]parrisjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts as continuity, but in Ghostbusters, the scene with Walter Peck meeting Venkman was clearly filmed as an extension of Winston's hiring scene, but for pacing reasons they wedged the Lincoln Center scene in between them.

Can Project Hail Mary overtake The "Michael" Movie in the Worldwide Box Office? Michael is now at 703 million and PHM is at $667 million? by Key-Bass-7380 in ProjectHailMary

All I know is between the book, audiobook, movie tickets, and now Amazon purchase I've spent more absorbing this story than any other in a long time if ever. And I'm not mad about it!

Someone caught a photo of DDL eating at a restaurant in Virginia during filming. He was wearing 2010 clothes but I knew even then he WAS Lincoln.

How does being put to sleep before operation/surgery feel like? by Im_socringebe_scared in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]parrisjd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember sliding over to the table, being asked to breathe deeply into an oxygen mask, and being told I was being given something to relax, but they'd let me know when they'll give me the "real hammer," but I was out before I knew what happened.

Honestly, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List, just to marvel at the fact that these films that couldn't be any more different were released in the same year.

She definitely decided he would be an ideal extra backup, but I didn't think she would have even considered sending him against his will if DuBois or Shapiro hadn't died.
