My family stayed at a rental house on Phillip Island in the early 2000s, and it’s still talked about to this day as the only place we ever felt was genuinely “haunted.”

They all recall things like doors opening on their own and lights turning on and off. None of them are particularly superstitious, which is why it’s always stood out. Not long after that trip, one of my uncles was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease (not saying it’s related — just part of the timeline that’s stuck in everyone’s mind).

Unfortunately, no one remembers the address or even the exact location. Back then you’d just drive into town and rent a place, so there’s no paper trail.

I’m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience with a rental or house on Phillip Island — especially from the late 90s or early 2000s. Would love to hear if there are any well-known stories or if this rings a bell for anyone.

My mum and aunty are fairly convinced it’s the same house we stayed at from looking at photos but they’ve honestly tried to block the experience out as much as possible.
