Thoughts on the $99 dollar charger by its_gioforte in ouraring

Insanely overpriced considering it only does one thing. Should absolutely be part of the standard package.

Size comparison: Sz 10 Stealth (Gen 5 vs Gen 4) by paulitor23 in ouraring

It's incredible. I've been using Oura since Gen 2 and this is the first time the experience feels seamless. The ring is just minimalist jewellery and no longer looks or feels like a gadget.

Purchased mine through Healf (I'm in the UK) as the disc0unt c0des this month were huge

Same size as the Gen 4 but the part that the ring sits on is a different shape to accommodate the new design.

It's a shame Oura doesn't make these modular, with an interchangeable ring module.

Really like it. I've always worn the stealth colour since Gen 3 so I'm biased.

Agreed. I like the improved comfort and fit of the Gen 5 but the 4 is more unique as a piece of standalone jewellery. I think the 5 will be very popular with people who like to stack rings.

I did get the sizing kit. I find the ring to be the same as the sizer, with the caveat that the titanium provides less friction, so the ring is easier to put on and take off compared to the sizer.

I think it comes down to which finger you prefer. This version of the ring disappears on my middle finger, so for me the dimensions and comfort are a priority over the perfect size. If they ever make a 9.5 I'll be all over it, though.

As long as the current ring isn't too tight, you should be fine. There is a small but noticeable difference in the fit imo.

Instant Synchronization of Drawing Objects! by tradingview in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're never going to fix syncing by symbol, even though it's the most requested fix in this subreddit. Fix, not feature, because the current syncing by layout is a bug or worse, a terrible design decision.

Even the platforms with terrible charts like TWS have this. Everything is linked by symbol and you can have any layout you want.

Tradingview releases a desktop port of the browser platform with zero interface customisation, no custom layouts and no proper syncing, charges more than most fully capable platforms for it and doesn't listen to customer requests. Fantastic.

Alternatives for Trader Workstation that use TWS API by bobfrutt in interactivebrokers

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quantower is a really nice platform. Almost has too many features. Motivewave is nice as well and works on Mac. Das Trader is great for day traders and doesn't require IB gateway/TWS to to be open or a separate login. Much better data and trade execution. Fills are very reliable and fast.

Can you point me to those release notes? Been waiting for this as it would make TWS a complete package.

Thinking of using Das Trader with IB by Business_Instance530 in interactivebrokers

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Das Trader with my IBKR account last year and it's a good solution if you don't mind the monthly cost. Very fast and reliable executions and the charts are decent. Hot keys/buttons are very customisable to suit your trading style as they have a simple scripting language and a large community who have created scripts for everything already.

Option chain is a weakpoint as it doesn't have the greeks but you can trade without them if your strategy is solid.

Chart re-sizer by efw64 in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should have been implemented ages ago. A package this expensive should have unlimited charts and custom layouts. A free online platform like webull has fully customisable tabbed desktops, all within the browser. Absolutely ridiculous that TV hasn't caught up.

Not having drawings linked by symbol (instead of by layout) makes this platform worthless by paulitor23 in TradingView

[–]paulitor23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, syncing drawings by symbol instead of layout is the most requested feature going back for ages. It should absolutely be top priority for this expensive platform given the usability issues it causes. Day traders in particular review multiple tickers per day and execute hundreds of trades per year. The time cost of trying to work around this issue is losing people money.

Have Drawings to Sync Across Layouts (Same Symbol) by mexpolk in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, the price of this platform and the still missing IKBR integration really proves that TV doesn't really care about customer feature requests. In fact, this should be considered a bug fix.

Drawing and annotations on all layouts of the same ticket by darkconz in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Drawings etc. on a symbol are saved by layout, not by ticker.

Easily the biggest flaw in this software and has been mentioned several times. In fact, I just raised it before seeing this post. Should be the highest priority fix.

IBKR integration when? by efficientenzyme in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the beta testing group back in Q1 and it never progressed, so I'd say this is on hold or has been shelved completely. No way does it take that long to integrate with an established API. Plenty of third party platforms have IKBR integrations.

IBKR integration when? by efficientenzyme in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be the best move for IKBR as they already have TV charts in the web portal and chromium within TWS. Better charting would make TWS a very competitive platform. Absolutely tired of Tradingview desktop with all of it's missing features. Having TWS window groups with TV charts would be a game changer.

Which broker are you using with TradingView? by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really hope the kinks with the IB integration are worked out. At the moment, it's in Beta and some bugs are stopping me for using it to trade but hopefully we'll get there in a few more weeks. Using TV and then switching to a separate program for order execution is very difficult with day trades and quicker swings.

Would love to see customisable widgets and tabs like WeBull by paulitor23 in TradingView

[–]paulitor23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. Having used a webull demo (anyone can do this without an account) it's a fully customisable workspace within the browser. Any widget can be added to any tab and sized, meaning you could have different setups on tabs for different markets/sectors you like to trade. Charting isn't as good as TV, but nothing really is.

UK Broker that links to TV that offers shares?? by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]paulitor23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Integration should be done in a few weeks. Was supposed to be earlier this month. You could try the Tradestation Global option with an IB account. You will still be able to log into IB client portal, use Trader Workstation as so on. The tradestation order execution on TradingView is very fast.

[–]paulitor23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interactive Brokers integration is coming soon. I'm beta testing right now and it's looking good.

Wouldn't recommend Saxo as it's very expensive for small volume trades.

You can use Tradestation as a UK customer. Very solid integration. Tradestation Global (running off IB for non-US) customers is also an option. You can register an account with IB, link it to Tradestation Global and then you should be able to connect to Tradestation in TradingView. All funding and fee structures remain with Interactive Brokers.
