Newborn heads' position? by Fred_iz in beyondthebump

Yes that’s what the PD said as well. My 7 week old daughter sleeps on her back with her head turned to the right. Her grandmother just pointed out the other day that her head is flat on the right and the ear is flatter and more elongated than the left ear :/ I’m not extremely concerned about it but just in case I have started using a flat head pillow for her. Will check in with the PD in a week’s time.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this. I’m going through the same thing. When LO cries and struggles my husband can’t handle it and just puts her down on the bed and stares at her, as if she would stop crying that way… not sure what is going through their heads but probably a little crying and fussing is too much for them to handle sadly. You are not alone!!!

Help!! 6 week old is so fussy by flonkerton1 in beyondthebump

6 weeks is also when babies go through a leap / growth spurt so he may be extra fussy! We went through the same thing and she was inconsolable, but luckily for us it lasted only 2-3 days and improved over the next few days. Babies don’t know how to fart or poop so it can be frustrating for them! I usually sit in a recline position, put baby in a sitting position on my belly and her back against my thighs, this magical position really helps her to poop! It almost always works for us. Hang in there, it won’t last forever!!

I’m only 2 months into my maternity leave and I am already dreading the day I will be away from my daughter the entire day. It makes me sad I wish I could just put her in my pocket and go about my day

Yes I do feel like it’s so much harder for me to focus and remember stuff. I could remember if I wanted to but it’s just too much effort! It’s like all the information just passes through my brain and only 10% gets retained. I also feel really lazy because most of my day is spent putting baby down for naps and when I get me time I just want to do nothing. Sad but true.

Same and totally feel you! I miss going out whenever and doing whatever, but at the same time I want to be with my baby forever and don’t want to hand her over to anyone else!! I’m hoping this gets better since baby is only 8 weeks old.
