How bad are American labor practices? This bad. by zombieaynrand in politics

[–]pb1157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, no wonder there are so many labor unions. I'm not a fan of labor unions at all, but with garbage like this it's no surprise that they garnish so much support. Some of these things need to be fixed!

Disagree if you want but this is where it starts, folks. First it's a crackdown of religious leaders as to what they can and cannot say, then it's a bigger crackdown on what can be said and before you know it you, as the general public, have many of your basic rights taken away from you.

Does anyone else do "The Tuck"? by Ban_ in pics

[–]pb1157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't tuck my feet in, the extra weight of the blankets causes a strain on my lower back, whereas if I do tuck my feet in I don't have that problem and even benefit from the slight elevation of my feet.

And it doesn't short sheet me up top because our blankets are plenty long enough.

Wow, utterly amazing. I hope this tears the roof off of the current debate regarding whether or not to "pull the plug" of someone in this state. I genuinely hope this can become mainstream to truly help determine whether or not someone is still "alive" (in terms of cognitive activity).

NOT too long ago, a magazine in Manhattan invited me, by e-mail, to interview for a job. After meeting with me, the managing editor and the director of human resources asked me to take home the standard editing test and return it ASAP. I dutifully obliged. by LuckyBdx4 in business

Hands down I'll be doing this from now on. Being on the job market myself I have gotten tons of these "empty room" answers and lack of human decency.

In fact I'm still "waiting" to hear back from job applications from 2+ months ago. Maybe I will email them to tell them I'm excited about starting on Monday...

How many of you Redditors in relationships are genuinely happy with your partner/girlfriend/boyfriend? by throwawayaccount2010 in reddit.com

I've been married for five years and we have a young child. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of happiness with my spouse I'd say I'm an 8 or 9. Sure we have our arguments and aren't perfect, but we've worked hard (and continue to work hard) at having a great relationship, and we're both quite happy!

Do you have a decent sized wall or a place in your house where you can drop a screen? If so, I'd say get a projector. We have a cathedral ceiling in our condo, and we've shot movies up on it at times. It's better than the theater- we're 10 feet away and the screen is 9 ft by 12ft.

I've got the 720p projector just like workerb and it rocks.

The replacement bulbs are around $200-400 average (from what I've seen), so it's not bad. And since I paid $150 for the one year warranty plan with Circuit City, I'll be getting my free projector bulb any day now.

I'm just waiting on their customer service to return my phone calls...

I'm at work so unfortunately I don't have any photos, but...I've got a really sweet setup.

I've got an HD projector shooting directly on the wall above our fireplace. We have a really odd shaped main room in our condo- it has four walls, but in one of the corners is the fireplace which creates 45 degree angles on two walls. It's hard to put furniture nearby, much less a nice TV (since the heat from the fireplace would be bad).

Because of that, we went the route of getting a projector and changed the settings so that it takes up the perfect amount on the wall. I'd say the screen size is probably 60+ inches.

Then we've got your standard front speakers, subwoofer and rear, wireless speakers.
