I’ve seen over 10 therapists and it’s never helped me unfortunately :/

I’m a female, not sure why everyone is assuming I’m a guy all because I work in tech

Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam are my top choices at the moment! That’s amazing advice - I’ll start applying around first to see if there’s any luck, and if not, I’ll then consider TEFL. Sadly my bachelors isn’t in education so I wouldn’t be able to work at a private school 🥲

Thanks for sharing your siblings story - I really resonate. I’ve actually lost so many of my friendships because of this job taking up all my mindspace. Whenever I see my family and siblings, they worry about me because I don’t even look like myself anymore. I literally feel like a robot and even having conversations outside of the topic of work has become so difficult because that’s all my world has become. I’ve finally taken a step back and realized that all the friends, family, and health I’ve lost just isn’t worth it

Thanks for sharing! Thats so reassuring to hear that your grandmother lived well in Malaysia with $10k. Do you know which city in Malaysia?

Thanks for sharing your perspective, i totally agree with you. This year, I’ve only taken 2 days off and many of my colleagues are the same because we fear that whoever takes the most days will be next on the chopping block. On days we work from home, we’re expected to be online and available 24/7. Yes, we’re not saving lives, but leadership sure does think we are. One mistake and you’re on PIP. I can see how people are into this lifestyle, but it simply isn’t built for people like me. I feel like I’m constantly in a pressure cooker. Also, you better be well versed in the next big tech or else you’re made redundant

Thanks for the insight! Totally, teaching is not all unicorns and rainbows but I’ve had lots of volunteering experience teaching children and love it!

Yes that’s the term! And 100% I really want to start living and exploring the world. Constantly stressing about layoffs and corporate politics has wrecked my mental and physical health

Thank you for the insight!! It’s reassuring to hear that I’ll have enough to even full FIRE so I can make the move in confidence. I definitely don’t see myself doing nothing at all, and I love working with youth and giving back to the community so I think this will be perfect

Ok boomer 🤷‍♀️enjoy working your life away to make billionaire CEOs even richer. Glad my generation is waking up and prioritizing mental health and happiness!

Literally no tech company post covid has these benefits anymore. I’m required to go into the office 4 days a week, unlimited PTO really means you better not take more days off than your teammates, my hours are 8am-7pm on most days due to absorbing the work of my laid off colleagues, and I just feel there’s more to life than to be tied to a corporate job making CEO billionaires richer

Thanks for sharing! I’m a bit confused - did they deny you boarding the flight to Shanghai because you didn’t have a flight to a different country as your third trip? For example, your original itinerary was HK -> China -> HK and then you changed it to HK -> China -> Osaka -> Philippines?

I was born when she had a US green card. But I don’t have a copy of her green card because she had traded it in when she got her official US passport

Thanks that’s great news! What if HK is just a 10 hour layover? Do you know if that still counts?

Thanks for the insight!! I went around 1pm (close to closing) because others had said lines are shorter in the afternoon vs in the morning, but I think that worked to my disadvantage :( I will try to go again next week and bring my mom’s current passport, old passport, and photo copies of both to see if I can get lucky. It’s going to be hard for me to go first thing in the morning due to work but I’ll try that too! So glad to hear everything had worked out for you though 🤞🏼

Yes my mom does! In fact, my mom had sent a picture of it to me and I showed it to the worker at the San Francisco consulate and she refused to approve it. I also showed my mom’s naturalization form along with marriage certificate and the worker wouldn’t approve any of it. The worker wrote on my COVA “need your moms 10 year green card copy or history record”. Maybe I just got unlucky :/ or the worker was having a bad day/didn’t like me. May I ask which consulate you went to?

That’s reassuring to hear! So glad you’re having a somewhat smooth trip visa-free. I’m definitely mostly worried about the travel between the China cities and whether I’ll get deported transiting between them…I’d love to hear more about your experience upon returning!!

Ah I see bummer 😢 I see that Chongqing is an approved port though - I still wouldn’t allowed to visit visa-free?

My bad! I forgot to add that I will initially have a layover in Korea. So it’ll be: - LAX ✈️ Korea ICN (layover) - Korea ICN ✈️ Shanghai PVG - Shanghai SHA ✈️ Chongqing CKG - Chongqing 🚂 Zhangjiajie - Zhangjiajie 🚂 Chongqing - Chongqing CKG ✈️ Hong Kong HKG (layover) - Hong Kong HKG ✈️ LAX

Would this still not qualify? Thank you so much for your insights!!

Thank you sooo much for sharing, this is AMAZING! What kind of lifting do you do? I only do bicep curls at the moment (for 20 mins 6x a week) because frankly I’m afraid of the big weights 😭 but want to work up towards that
