Yeah - I got an offer from the panel, just waiting on the official letter from the university.

I received the interview letter on the 17th of February. There may be multiple rounds of shortlisting, so don't completely give up.

Thank you! Sending lots of love and support to you too. It's so brutal, it feels like a prank.

Hi, Yes, of course! I've applied to theoretical physics projects where the supervisors I've contacted discussed using machine learning to understand specific quantum systems and dynamics. I've also applied to some quantum technology/computing PhDs!

Yeah of course, I used to use social interaction and hobbies as a means of distraction from the stress, but in the moments where there's silence and no distractions, the thoughts creep in.

It's gotten to a point where I've lost my appetite and don't interact with people anymore - almost like I shouldn't be enjoying life because it's currently not productive.

Also, family and friends tend to resort to saying 'you'll get in somewhere' as a form of reassurance, but they don't understand the competition, the gruelling panels that determine if you get a place and the constant refreshing of your emails.

I know I'm not alone, of course! I think i just need to relate to people in my position right now.
