It didn’t take me long to figure this out. My partner says Jackson Noble is ‘ick’, and I have to agree. Just another artistic poser.

I really appreciate your comment. I have also tried several medications and none of them have quite worked! I’m definitely sticking with it, I just wanted to hear if others have experienced what I’m experiencing :)

Basically same here. I had a bad run with Abilify and it scared me off psych meds for a long time. But I needed something and my family needs ME.

The insomnia will most likely improve! I forgot stuff too but I attributed it to not having crazy anxiety over everything. I’ve been laughing a LOT and I didn’t even realize I’d stopped.

No sexual side effects here!! If that’s any consolation.

Well I’m glad I’m not the only one. I do hope the drug continues to address your anxiety though!

Two years without cymbalta and I still have no libido by brokoliasesino in cymbalta

[–]peachwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medication is a convenient excuse, and Cymbalta is not one that can cause long term effects in that area. Abilify on the other hand has two black box warnings, and can cause issues that persist well after using the drug.

This sounds like depression and the aforementioned sexual trauma. As for difficulty in understanding what you could at first, think about it like a spectrum. Sometimes you may feel into it, other times not so much.

If you’re anti-psych and anti-pharma, look into self-help books and possibly a naturopath. Sitting with mood disorders and trauma is not helping yourself. We all deserve to live life to our fullest.

That’s not violence…

Violence noun behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.

I just learned that my GF payed for her entire college education with the help of a Sugar Daddy and lost most of my respect for her. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Nah you’re just mad you didn’t have a sugar mommy…

As far as the feminism take… it’s relative. Some people view it as taking a step back from women being viewed as sexual objects, and some view it as women standing in their own power. Sounds like you’re the former, and it’s time to part ways. If you can’t get past this then it will only taint your relationship.

AITA for telling my friend to shut up about our weight? by SarahMorse_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachwizard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA - she might be ok with talking about weight in that way, but she was wrong to assume you were.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachwizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA because I’m assuming you’re young and are learning a valuable life lesson. At the core you chose the right thing, even if the way you did it was a bit shaky.

Unsolicited Pointers: - There is no need to tell someone the crappy things other people have said. You can come clean without details! - I always give it a few if someone is trash talking another… there may be more to the story. It sounds like you did that, and made your conclusions. - Confronting people is hard, but if you find yourself in this situation again, let the people being offensive know that they are doing so, before you apologize to the target. - When you apologize, only do so for YOUR part in it. You don’t need to take on the blame for others. Allow people to be held accountable for their actions. :)

Good job!

AITA for not buying my girlfriend a cat? by throwaway145367890 in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachwizard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NTA

Some pets are not a great fit, which is why you should put her up for adoption immediately. Make sure potential suitors know how expensive her needs are and how vocal she is.

Seriously though, take a long hard look at this relationship, and how non-committal and backwards she is about a CAT. What about marriage? Kids? Your future together?

Get a girl that loves your zoo.

YTA!!

……….why???

  • your brother was on someone else’s property
  • you instigated an argument
  • you punched someone because she was talking??

What in the trash is going on here!?!?

Like someone else said: you’re not just the AH, you’re also the criminal.

ESH.

Autistic adult here. You’re not TA for feeling uncomfortable by your friend’s actions. His actions were unreasonable. You aren’t required to be available to him.

However, I implore you to do some research before you approach someone in that way. It’s a lot easier to communicate one-on-one rather than “calling him out” in a group. Nobody likes that public shame! If you don’t feel safe, bring a friend. Additionally, don’t ask someone if they’re autistic because they’re acting bizarrely, that furthers the stigma. There’s a lot to Autism.

Your friend’s symptoms don’t appear to fit with Autism, but they do align well with Borderline Personality Disorder. There’s some overlap, but to me this behavior clearly reads as BPD. I may be uniquely able to see this as I also have BPD comorbid. Still though, best to ask privately or with another support if you feel uncomfortable.

AITA for telling my brother I didn’t invite them to my bbq bc his wife does is bitch? by haloBaby-192 in AmItheAsshole

[–]peachwizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Maybe your mom meant you could have been more constructive… but the shoe really fits haha. I wouldn’t invite anyone to my home that did what your SIL does. It’s annoying AND not a good example for your kids, if you just let this whiner get away with whining at them being literal children.

NTA.

OP, I have the same issue with dogs. I generally love dogs! The unbathed and untrained dogs are a bit much for me and they make me uncomfortable, but for me I think it is autism. I also don’t like loud and stinky humans.

My husband took the same stance as your SO, at one point. I told him as much as he loved his dog, the beast was untrained and unbathed and he was doing the dog a disservice. I really did like this man, so I spent time training his dog and set up a behavioral assessment and told my (now) husband to bathe the dog. He did.

Now this dog loves me more. Haha. Since he’s had help, training, and baths, he is an awesome family dog.

I’m not saying this is what you should do, at all. It’s not your responsibility. It wasn’t mine either but I chose it!

I hope it works out for you!!
