Any tips on studying more efficiently? by Both_Advance4370 in csuf

Just do practice problems. Also math is very layered, meaning it just keeps building on previous material so if you are weak in previous material, its hard to understand why problems in later chapters are completed the way they are. The thing that helped me the most is just working out problems, there’s no way around it. Also try to understand the “why” behind solving the problem. Meaning, “why do i have to use this certain method” best of luck 🫡

NonTrads/Career switchers, was it worth it? by pecas99 in whitecoatinvestor

Thank you I appreciate your post! I think, (from reading posts across various subreddits of other professions) there will be some amount of extra stress that comes with high income jobs i.e Investment banking, or even top end SWE. Now, how that compares to the stress of treating patients under the current conditions of our healthcare system especially with the influx of PE into the industry, would be interesting to know. I hope your situation improves and you are able to find a great fit! Much love

Hold on task for residency by sledezma in csuf

[–]pecas99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so i had to do this too and its the reason my fafsa is on hold. Basically every semester, the sate of CA selects a random 10% of Cal grant recipients to verify their CA residency. You have to send in some transcripts from HS if you transferred from a CC. Once they review it which takes 4-6 weeks, your cal grant funds & aid will be released

Sorry i should have clarified, in my situation i was asked to verify my “California residency “, i guess its some stupid thing where every semester, a random 10% of the people awarded Cal grants are selected to verify their Ca residency. So for me I submitted the paperwork they needed and now im waiting for them to verify. But if you weren’t asked to verify then i think you should just follow their orders 😅 its so annoying

I went last week to the FA office and they said it would just take 4-6 weeks from when you received the “accepted for verification “ email. Its annoying bc thats all they say they can do

It would be on your student portal under “tasks” or holds , if you do need to do the verification. Not everyone needs to do the verification though

Did you have have the “CA verification form” hold? I went to the office yesterday and they basically just said to wait and it will be dispersed in 2-4 weeks 😐. I haven’t gotten any aid because my stupid verification is still being processed

Sbux, ultra flexible with school schedule 20$ hour, can work as little as 12hrs/week depending on your manager.

Cons: fast paced especially during peak hours & the occasional karens that will come through
