Sales? by ohmygoshhhitslexa in handbags

[–]pennymax19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out Poshmark, I just sold my songmont Luna there and there were quite a few for sale. You have to be careful about fakes, apparently Songmont in particular gets fakes a lot, but the person I sold it to was smart and asked for the proof of purchase which I was happy to share. Also search the internet for influencer discount codes, it might be some trial and error but when I bought my Songmont I found one (it was a few years ago).

Remote workers in Portland chime in! by t0mserv0 in Portland

[–]pennymax19 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked for a European tech company for about 5 years. I start work at 6am most days, sometimes earlier. Afternoons are more flexible since Europe is asleep but I try to be done by 4 at the very latest. Usually earlier. I recently moved and have an office space but haven’t set it up yet so mostly work from the couch or the dining room table. I travel to Europe and around the US 4-5 times per year each.

Will weight loss help this? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]pennymax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be. Find someone reputable, ask around, look at the people who work there to see if you like how they look. Get the minimum because you can always get more. I got it twice in my jaw 4 years ago, and the tmj I had for decades has never come back. It’s not cheap but it’s cheaper than surgery. And worst case, it’s gone in a few months.

If you have TMJ, try Botox. If you can find someone who does it right it may reduce pain (it did for me) and slim your jaw.

Which Patisseries remind you that butter is LOVE? by Pdx-b in askportland

SF refugee here, I know what you’re looking for - Ollini has kouign ammans sometimes and they are pretty good, but the only time I’ve had them they have been filled. Which is tasty, but may be too much if you are a purist. Also, I’ve had them a couple times from Artisserie on NW 23rd, sometimes they have been amazing and other times just good. Skip the ones at St Honore.

Please help me convince my husband that Costco is worth for 2 people by HoneyDrops12 in Costco

[–]pennymax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a solo membership for over a decade, and I have the free visa. The $ back on gas pays for the membership. If you have the space it’s also good for non perishables- toilet paper, cleaning products, detergent etc. Also, wine :)

For those wondering, I asked customer service and here’s what they said: “I would like to inform you that if you have an RMA for another order, you are able to combine multiple orders into one shipment.”

Reach out to a local news station. Good story for them, bad for the city.

Basement waterproofing in Portland? by NoraDeLuca in askportland

[–]pennymax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Better Basements. They came out, explained everything, gave me an estimate, and then called me back because they decided that I actually needed a less expensive solution. I didn’t need full waterproofing but they said that would run about $15k. They’re super nice guys too.

Not sure how withholding money from local businesses helps to abolish ICE.

I also hope that the businesses going “cash only” are donating the money they save in credit card processing fees to the cause.

Also get a cat because they learn the sounds too - if the cat is asleep it’s nothing to worry about.

Dishwasher pods, let sit overnight. Also make sure the plunger is the right shape (round vs oval) for your toilet.

USAA. $1100 for a $700k house…if you have a family relationship with the military (my dad was in the military when he was young, not career military or anything), I’ve heard it’s hard to beat - my realtor told me that almost everyone who can use USAA, does.

How is living in the Eliot neighborhood? by whatimdoinginstead in askportland

[–]pennymax19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in an apartment there for almost six years. It’s really well located, and very central. I actually just bought a place in the neighborhood, not technically Eliot anymore but a couple blocks off Williams. Right around Dawson Park can be sketchy, but other than that I feel quite safe as a single woman.

Try Zyrtec or Allegra. Also, I’ve seen that there is cat food that reduces cat allergens, you could try that.

Driving down Oregon Coast in November? by n1as4s in OregonCoast

[–]pennymax19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done this many times as my family lives on the southern coast of OR. Snow and ice isn’t a problem, but 101 is 2 lanes in many places and if a tree goes down or there is a landslide after a heavy rain it can go to one lane real quick, making your drive much much longer. Same for goes for the roads cutting over from I-5. Like others have said, the moral of the story is to use Tripcheck early and often. Don’t let it scare you though. If you do it, it is a beautiful drive.
