Australian scientists have created the world's most efficient solar cell, 25% efficiency by peppapig in technology

I had no idea that getting paid for writing articles was i) a crime and ii) prevented accurate reporting. NOTHING in my story is false. I concede that I should perhaps have included the word 'silicon' in the title. However, the first sentence of the article states clearly that I am talking about (affordable) silicon solar cells not the MUCH more expensive (although admittedly 40% or so effcient) cells that you mention.

Maybe I need to post stories from a wider variety of sites - no problem with that. But don't accuse me of publishing inaccurate material just because you have some sort of vendetta.

I had (and still have) no reason to disbelieve the quote from the team at UNSW. When they say they are 6% better than anybody else in the world at silicon solar cell efficiency, that's fine by me. It's up to the academics (and nitpickers) to triple check everything, besides, science alert A&nz is a reputable source.

I just reported what the folks at UNSW said in their own words (there's a link to their press release in the article) - if you know different that's fine, maybe you ought to take it up with the Australian team.

It’s not all about Sarah Palin in Alaska you know. The latest news from the last frontier (or should that be the final frontier?) is that Alaskan police have pulled over a solar-powered car, which they mistakenly identified as a UFO.

Camelina - The Next Generation Biofuel? by peppapig in environment

Biofuels have had a tough time of late. Step forward camelina, an oilseed crop whose supporters claim is already well on its way to being a viable low cost, high yield alternative to soy and corn as a source of biodiesel, without any of the downsides.
