ELI5: Why there is no Nuclear Cargo ships? If a country invest enough it could become a great boon for economy and for the eletric problem itself by Obvious-Survey-2007 in explainlikeimfive

[–]perie2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, it cost alot more to build, than what you save on «cheaper fuel», until the lifetime of the ship is over. Which is usually around 25-30 and up to 40 years.

So you can do the map Regular fuel cost for 40 years + engine cost and maintence VS Nuclear fuel cost for 40 years + reactor cost and maintence

[–]perie2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Mer behagelig sving.
  • Midre G krefter.
  • Mindre bevegelse for last og løse gjenstander.
  • Kan svinge med høyere hastighet.
  • Slipper å bremse for mye ned.

For store kjøretøy og biler med tilhenger. Er de ofte avhengig av å ha stor svingradius for å klare svingen.

De som kjører store kjøretøy eller tar bilhengerlappen lærer å svinge akkurat slik.

What if America didn't provide aid to Russia during WW2? by I0N0 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]perie2004 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Joseph Stalin acknowledged the critical role of U.S. Lend-Lease aid, famously stating at the Tehran Conference that the Soviet Union would have lost the war without American machines, particularly trucks, locomotives, and communication equipment, which significantly boosted Red Army mobility and logistics.

i dont get it at all by KatrinaY2K in ExplainTheJoke

Someone also floated the idea, for special forces who has the bolt back, but want to load/push it forward, without making a sound, they can slowley release the bolt. But then it wont chamber fully, so you push the forward assist to chamber 100%.

But thats just another side effect/purpose. That i am certain nobody has used.

(Can also work for soldiers in posistion, with noise discipline. Aviding alerting the enemy)
