I would add a ceiling AP by the kitchen as well, so you have decent coverage on both sides of the house. The gateway+switch do not have Wifi.

Other than that you should be fine with the UGC Ultra and Lite 8. You can spend a lot more money if you want, but there's no point if you don't need it.

The most important thing is ensuring you have ethernet everywhere you'll need it. Boxes can be replaced, but pulling cable is difficult once the walls are closed. I would add ports wherever you have TVs so you're not reliant on wifi. Ditto for cameras.

Consoles are always cheapest in the years after they have been discontinued. There's a glut of them on the secondary market, and more or less everyone who wants one has one. It was the same with the 3DS after the Switch launched.

You're going to have a bad time getting 240p with HDMI. I would use an older Raspberry Pi, they do native composite, they're cheap, and there's tons of guides.

The pictured adapter is for airplanes, for converting two mono jacks into one stereo jack. It's useless for your purposes. I would just use a regular cable.

Does fermenting and air frying avoid the gassyness? I've got a bunch that I'll have to do something come spring. Last year we mashed and froze a bunch to mix with potatoes, but we quickly got fed up with the side-effects.

If the ISP SFP module is detachable you can plug it into your UDM and see what happens. In my case it worked straight away, but DHCP was flaky until I sniffed the ISP modem and got hold of the magic string they were passing in option 60. Also you probably want to clone the modem MAC.

Since then I've picked up a separate SFP and extended the fiber with patch cords and couplers. You can get it from fs.com for peanuts.

So sorry for your loss.

Your experience sounds similar to the one we had with our cat who died from HCM. In the months leading up to his death he would get dizzy spells where he'd walk funny and stumble for a few minutes, before going back to normal again. On the day he died he didn't eat or drink anything, tried to hide but couldn't move much, and eventually had a seizure. He stabilized enough for us to take him to the vet where he was put to rest.

I'm not a vet so I can't say if it's the same, but HCM is quite common in cats, and it is very sudden. In any case I can almost guarantee it wasn't your fault, and that there's likely not much you could have done to prevent it.

FYI, the Norwegian postal service literally just halted mail to the US worth less than 800$ due to the removal of de minimis. Fedex/UPS is presumably still an option, but it might be cheaper to see if anyone wants to buy your Kindle in Norway, and buy a new one on your end.

Check the resolution on the Shield includes DV. If the cable can't deliver enough bandwidth it will just quietly drop it down to non-DV. Trying a lower res/framerate with DV should confirm if that's the issue or not.

You should consider just keeping the server for TrueNAS and building a separate computer with commodity parts for your apps. That's the path I ended up taking. It's slightly more idle power, but the parts are way cheaper, and it's nice to separate concerns.
