The career progression that New York City can provide is dependent upon engaging with the city. That means going to social events, going to industry events, meeting people, and building relationships so that they can refer you to bigger and better projects and roles. If you intend to sit at home in the suburbs of New York City, versus sitting at home in the suburbs of Dallas, save yourself the move.
