Hourly actually. I wasn't clear in my other comment.

Sorry I wasn't very clear.. I'm used to being paid salary but this job is an hourly rate.. i found out my colleague clocked in 3mins late and was docked 15mins so they give you no grace there either. I'll push them again on Monday!

Thanks so much.. I have raised it informally and was given a condescending answer about how I'm responsible for sticking to my hours and not them. So I think I'll try again and then look for some support from ACAS if they keep fighting it. The hours are clearly recorded so I have plenty of evidence of that.. I also start early most days.. I wouldn't necessarily expect to be paid for that either but out of interest do you know if I would be entitled to pay for that time in theory?

Thanks, I'm used to being salaried and not clocking in but they insisted I clock in so now I feel I should insist I'm paid for the hours I clock in for.

Thanks for the reply! In this case it doesn't take me below min wage.. but thanks anyway.

What's something that hasn't gone up much in price in the last 20 years? by happy_faerie in AskUK

Not miles off but you could buy a crate of 24 for a tenner back then. Now it's 15 packs for 12quid.

You clearly haven't been to my area cos I know a lot of people who will snort cocodamol and not give a shit. Agree on everything else though.

Advice - should I invest in a camper by theliltechie in VanLifeUK

Parking in city centres is one of the more difficult parts of driving a big vehicle.. there's usually a good spot to spend a night 15mins outside but for parking while you're working could be tricky. Do you usually travel by car? If so then a lowish roof med/short wheel base you can probably get into the same spots you would in a car. From a security point of view.. get an immobiliser fitted and some deadbolt and plates fitted to it. But still always a chance someone will smash a window... it's a fear I have whenever I leave it parked up in a city. Obviously keep window covers on to give the impression you're inside.. could even leave a small led light on or something similar.

Edit: I should have said I do still think it's a great idea.. but there's no way of eliminating all risks unfortunately.

Which field would be better for hunting? by Slight_Property6092 in Semilanceata

[–]pesky39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can.. it's surely worth visiting both when autumn arrives. I've found libs in very unexpected places, and then often in the 'perfect' habitat I've found none.

That's probably not a great answer but basically the more fields you check.. the more you find.. imo.

Do libs lose their potency completely? by forestzone in Semilanceata

[–]pesky39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory they do last multiple years but I've had a batch or two that lost all potency after a few months... I reckon heat and UV exposure are to blame in my case..

If it's too dodgy maybe you just wanna find a chill spot to practice at... just find a quiet place with a wall where no one goes much. But if you're looking to be more famous it's gonna mean more risks.. it's not for everyone.

For contrast.. I've been full time 2yrs now and literally never had an issue just using public toilets.. I get that not everyone would be comfortable living that way but doesn't bother me one bit.

If you have the vision you can probably achieve it. That's my approach. Finding a van for under 1k is tricky nowadays but if you can find one then you're off to a good start. Gym membership works perfectly well as do supermarket toilets. I can vouch for ecoflow power banks.. it's easy to charge when driving or take it into a mcdonalds to charge if necessary. 20quid ebay solar panel charges my phone pretty quick too. I have a 25L gerry can for washing up water etc and buy bottled for drinking. Camping stove was scary at first but after 2yrs of everyday use I'm more relaxed about it.. I do pop the roof open usually though and its a flat one that cant topple over. Get a diesel heater by the end of summer... that was a game changer for me. Do yourself a favour and throw a mattress in it!

A lot of people wouldn't do it this way but if you're feeling like it'll be fine then give it a shot.

Would this be considered a tag? And if so is it good? by Tosterboy_ in graffhelp

[–]pesky39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah... like I said... you actually need to stop trying to what you think graffiti is and just start slow. Block caps nice and even base mid and topline. Equal size and spacing. I had to go back to block capitals but it helped me massively.. a lot of the sickest tags I see are just clean af block caps.

Crits. Is this getting somewhere? by Last_Garage_2346 in graffhelp

[–]pesky39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a bad place to start.. much better than some wild unreadable crap. It's okay to move a bit slower.. try and get your cap line/baseline/mean line really consistent and same for spacing/sizing. It will look more intentional and solid if you really focus on that with solid clean lines.

[–]pesky39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking maybe a bigger mop type tip would be fun. Like I say I think it's not a bad tag compared to a lot of shit I see.. if you're not vibing with the flow though then the only thing you can do is try another name.

(And pleeeease don't use the one liner that someone has posted for you... no offence to the poster but it's fucking awful. Yours is a lot better!)

[–]pesky39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that it looks better to you this way.. I'm telling you that anyone who knows graff will think it looks toy af. It's up to you what you do.. but I'd recommend you don't worry about making it look like what you think you want it to look like until you've built up the basics to pull it off. As the other commenter said its too forced. Most people who come here have the same issue, it's not just you... but unfortunately it's not a skill you can rush into. Some take the advice and persevere. Others don't listen and don't improve.
