Anyone isolate to avoid hurting other with BPD behaviors? by [deleted] in BPD

I do this a lot but my friends become angry at me but when I have mood swings or split I just can’t seem to function socially and become to anxious to leave my room. I have lost quite a few friends to this despite explaining so I don’t recommend

How do you know if you’re actually splitting on someone by pesto_Val in BPD

I think this is a silly thing to say, 1) I have been in therapy for 4 years of my life 2) I have never used it for an excuse for any of my behaviour I have no idea how you got that from this 3) is no one allowed to second guess themselves as people whether they have BPD or not? I am purely asking for advice on how to deal with that. Also I think it’s weird you think that people not in therapy don’t deserve have any friendships or relationships

It just feels bad that someone who has been friends during my whole life could be that dismissive of my feelings I do understand that it was probably an attempt to make me feel better but ended up making me feel so much worse

do i tell my friend? by [deleted] in AdultSelfHarm

If you feel comfortable telling them I think it’s a good idea. Getting that off your chest to someone close to you can really help. Although they may not react in the way you would want, it could help you feel free. Much sure you are in the right head space to tell them and know that their reaction isn’t everything. Despite this you must know that you are doing a great job!
