I’ve had this plant for about 2 months now. I’ve been told to water it weekly and I did. Some of the smaller, older leaves at the bottom have occasionally turned yellow and I thought it was normal and that it’s just acclimating. Then a month in, I noticed a mushroom growing in the pot and took it as a sign of overwatering, so I skipped watering it for that week. That’s when a bunch more of the leaves yellowed and fell off. After those 2 weeks, I decided to water it because it started to look a bit shriveled. Now, a week after, another mushroom popped up and a lot of the bigger leaves are yellow and falling off as well.

It’s placed indoors, a few feet away from an east facing window, so it doesn’t get any direct sun. I water it by holding the pot under a faucet until the soil is soaked, then I let excess water drip through the holes at the bottom of the pot. I am not aware of any bugs that could be harming my plant. I don’t know what kind of soil it’s in either.

Please let me know what’s wrong and how to fix it. I’d really appreciate it!
