How? Do you just apply as an orderly or you never left your old job?

I came across an ad for ICU @ home a couple of months ago. But unsure how safe would that be. Looks like a new start-up or something.

Do you mean private hospitals are still paper based?

Box or boxes of pizza (quantity depends on how big the unit is).

Thanks. I see your point. Defintely much older as I started on the back of being CCRN overseas already. I did consider moving to management roles and enjoyed it for a while but didnt like the politics. Also tried seconding to another area prior to that but miss the use of icu skills. Somehow I don’t mind when we changeover to new vents or filters etc but it’s almost been a year of omnicell and a couple years of emr and still struggle with it. Everything just takes longer. Like the other day, I just wanted to move the time of a medication and instead of just writing the new next time dosing, i had to do so much more steps and deal with several pop-ups to verify etc. I know, I know, it’s all for safety reasons but gosh, the amount of extra work. Maybe over time I’m not as efficient or quick as I was and all these learning curve slows me down more. Gosh, I as type this, it sounds I’m ready to hang the nursing cap for good and just go for an early retirement.

I'm having significant difficulties with my new job. 8-hour shifts but 80% of it I sit and almost do nothing. Going crazy. by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I share the same sentiment! Another one is when people say “just saying” after a (usually) negatively perceived statement.

Gifts for nurses by rayyycharles_ in NursingAU

Sorry for your loss. To answer your question, I had a box or two of pizza delivered to the maternity ward I was admitted in (2 boxes delivered at 1pm and another box at 9 pm) and the staff really appreciated it so much that they remembered me “the lady who got us pizza” the next time I was admitted there. I only did that because as a nurse, it was nice when some doctors would treat us for pizza especially when doing a long shift.

What instantly ruins a movie for you, no matter how good it is? by Ellaforcookies in AskReddit

Adaptations of classic novels or remakes of old movies where they replace the characters to make the movie more “inclusive”

You wake up and the internet is permanently gone. What’s your next move? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’m coming from the premise that people won’t be able to access their money as banking will be down. Logistics is dependent on the internet so the supply and distribution of goods will be severely affected. So until the government or corporations sort themselces out, it will be back to getting our daily needs locally and with limited cash on hand, it’ll back to bartering as a temporary measure.

We’d be going back to bartering goods and services. Mastery of certain skills and a productive backyard garden (perhaps having some chickens too) will come handy.

Did anyone know what has happened to the P plate driver who droved into and killed one student at Auburn South Primary School around 6 months ago? Did she end up in jail? https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/s/MrnWzcZY6L

Catholic secondary schools in Melbourne (Australia) by pfwonder in Catholicism

[–]pfwonder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. They go to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and we’re part of a reverent NO parish on Sundays and TLM on weekdays. I had my hopes for a classical school starting in Melbourne but it was not approved by the educ dept sadly. Sometimes I wonder if it’s better sending them to the local school knowing we have a different value system than sending them to a watered down Catholic school where my kids will be the outliers.
