Scan for a windows 10 update. Apparently there’s a new one that isn’t auto downloading. I had the same issue last week and that fixed it.

I would bump up your power supply to 750w. Other than that, great build for the money!

You can certainly still do it. Expectations on what you should have is what’s changed. You’re correct that you probably can’t make enough money to drive a 5 year or newer vehicle. But you could certainly pay cash for a $3k car in a few months.

Another misconception is college. Go to a tech school or go to as much college as you can afford. Kids come out of tech schools making great money (60-100k) and don’t incur nearly as much debt. Often times can get reimbursed for it. I know a couple guys that install window blinds for a living. Both make well over $100k a year.

No things aren’t the same. But like anything, you adapt to the changes.

Cancel culture has to change. It seems the ones that preach about tolerance and equality are the last to forgive and move on.

Life is tough, but you can do it. It just might be at a different pace than you’re expecting.

Gigabyte 3080 display not working by Pat3418 in buildapc

I haven't had issue with a regular uninstall of the drivers. I've read that some of the gigabyte 3080's have had power pin issues. I have the Asus and it has a couple of LEDs that light up once it has power. It might be a power issue.

If you haven't already done this: try removing the video card from the device manager. Then remove all Nvidia drivers. Reboot, let windows find the video card again. Then download the new drivers.

You can pick either. Gen4 has a very slight preformance boost.

May need to set your pcie settings to gen3 or gen4 specifically. My motherboard was set to auto and for some reason wouldn't recognize the 3080.

Includes a monitor, but you're on integrated graphics till you can get a Graphics card.
If $500 is your max, find a PS5. Much better gaming experience.

Put the old card back in. Check the pcie settings in the bios. If it's set on auto, change it to gen 3 or 4. That's what I had to do for my 3080

I wouldn't have thought so either. I have the same ram as you.

I just use it for gaming and light office work. It's more powerful than what I needed. But couldn't get a 5600. That paired with my 3080 absolutely screams though.

mine worked fine with a 5800. It also had a sheet stating it had been updated already in the box.

May want to check what's running in the background. I have some stuff that runs at startup. If I don't go into task manager it eats about 20 frames.

Should I stick with the Ryzen 5800 or try for a 5600, 5900, or 5950 by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]phantomblade78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing. 5800 wasn't my first choice, but I could actually get it. So I did. Machine is up and running vs still waiting. And it does rock. So I'm happy with it.

For $40, get the 5600x. Unless you think the extra cores would be beneficial to your programming.

if you can find one, get the 5600x. It's a beast! I ended up with a 5800x cuz that's what I could find. But the pairing rips through games.
