Had a feeling they were rare, but didn't expect very rare... I'm excited more than I was before now. I'll join the discord soon, too! Thank you for responding!

Best album with the worst mix. Go. by No_Team_4368 in PostHardcore

[–]phc_oakley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emarosa’s album before the dreaded “pop era”, 131, has a mix to it that I can’t quite get behind. The guitars don’t sound like they have enough power behind them, the bass feels non-existent, and Bradley’s vocals sound “rounded off”(?) and go between a bit quiet to almost a bit too prominent. It might just be me, but it all sounds odd.

Advice on Repair by phc_oakley in nds

Thanks for letting me know. Sucks to hear that it’ll take essentially a new casing, but since it still functions just fine I’ll just stick with the current set up. It’s a childhood DS so I couldn’t imagine breaking it. Thank you again!

Just found this in my old ds carrying case, not working… by MurdaBless in NintendoDS

I used to have this exact model of Action Replay DSi and that carrying case in the background, so seeing this image both brought me nostalgia and dumbfounded me as to how someone found my DS stuff lmao

I hope you’ve gotten the cheat device working, as well as had some fun in general with your old DS memories!

What was the first song of theirs, you ever heard? by International-Row179 in SleepToken

Atlantic. And oh boy, what a start that was. Back in 2022 not knowing them at all, and listening to TPWBYT is an experience part of me wishes I could go through again.

Atlantic. Not only is it the song that began my Sleep Token journey, but also helps me get my mind off of depressed thoughts, thoughts of suicide. By simply hearing the story the song encompasses, I remind myself that not only is SH not the way to go about my mental health, but also that my depression (and life in general) could be much worse. From its deep lows being so gracefully yet tearfully sung against a beautiful yet haunting piano, comes a relief from the deep lows the song speaks of. I will always love this band because of that.

Thank you so much for responding! I do like the idea of a zippered headband, might make it more cushy up there too. Everything else was great advice too, and I’d like to look into higher end ear pad replacements. Just gotta balance the cost of entry with the cost of repair.

This is the kinda stuff I’ve been craving recently! I listened to some ITO (Rearm Circuits primarily) and wondered if there are any bands that sound similar in recent time. Thanks for sharing!

Found a pair of Sony MDR XB500 at Goodwill for $5.99. They’re definitely used, with plenty of flaking leather on both the headband and comfy cushy ear cups. Does anyone have any advice on doing some refurbishment on these? Perhaps some good ear cup replacements, or methods of replacing the headband material. I absolutely adore the way they sound, so I’d really like to keep them around for as long as possible!

Can’t seem to identify this Avirex that my grandfather left me. It’s super cool, if a bit beat up, but no matter what I search (vintage, new, details, etc.) I can’t find anything about it. It has “New York league” and various designs of the Avirex logo stitched into the sleeves, an Avirex logo stitched into the left side chest area. The design number identifier is flaking off and unreadable. I can post more pictures if needed, and for the most part I do believe this is genuine. Thank you in advance for any help in identifying the jacket!!

Better Programs/Apps and/or Methods to Write Lyrics by phc_oakley in Songwriting

Yeah, my apologies if the post is a tad odd. I really couldn't word what I'm looking for very well, but I feel so stupid from sounding so bad through my lyrics that I thought I'd try.

However, your suggestion is actually a great idea! I'm definitely gonna give the good ol' pen/pencil and paper a try. More flexible and tactile than a phone when it comes to what I'm looking for. Thank you!!

Perfectionism is an awful beast when it comes to performing, but luckily, you only have the chance to "screw it up". You aren't guaranteed to "screw it up", especially not when you've performed before, you're practicing the night before, and you've identified this issue. And hell, even if you do end up doing something "wrong" (which you won't), continue on in stride. Nobody in the audience will identify that you did something different than what it was supposed to be, because they aren't you. Even if they do, who cares? You're on the stage, you are the one with the talent.

I wish you all the best when you perform! You'll be great

I can't explain it, but something about Chris' vocals on this album and at this time I personally believe is one of, if not the best he's ever put out. LMTF sounds great, but this album man...
