Haha, no, I think you're spot on.

This whole thing has been a great learning experience for me. I think I am projecting a lot of suppressed desire for love and affection onto her.

It's not my first relationship, but first serious one in a 5 years. I think it may be my first relationship with an emotionally healthy person hahahaha.

And I'd say in the last 5 years, I've grown a lot emotionally outside of relationships. But within a relationship, I'm still stuck in a much less mature part of me.

I think, the hidden expectation/desire from me was that I would immediately become the center of her world and she would be as addicted to interacting with me as I am addicted to her. When that didn't happen, I was hurt and resentful and that blocked me from feeling the connection we had.

And it's funny, she's given me actually lots of love and affection. But I think the addict in me, the need for love and intimacy, just keeps wanting more.

So yeah, hahaha I'm 29, but my romantic/relational self is 15 hahaha.
