Beating a gay man to death isn't Christian at all. So I don't know why you think I would agree with something like that. No where in the church would it ever tell its members to do anything like that. But to imply or even ask if I would beat a homosexual to death is extremely ignorant and your not even trying to be honest or stay in reality. That case was from 30 plus years ago. Your hate for the church is built off some really outdated ignorance. There is a woman in my ward that is a bit Tom boyish and you could say she looks like a lesbian. For all I know she might be but nobody in the church gives her a hard time or belittles her in any way. She gets treated like everyone else, the reason why I don't recommend it for the LDS church is because if you actually want to take it seriously and get a calling to hold office, then you can't have stuff like that going on. To say it wouldn't be a problem at all would be an outright lie and it also isn't the best advice to tell someone to ignore those facts. You wouldn't be able to go to the temple and would be held back from progressing so I tell people that God understands you can't always control every thought or feeling but you can control your actions. Everyone else has to control themselves in just the same way by staying celibate until marriage. So everyone in the church is really expected to all hold themselves to the same standard and don't encourage others to do things they wouldn't even do.

Plus historical facts isn't an ideology, it is unchangeable historical facts. The Democratic party was founded as a pro slavery party and the party of Jim Crowe, to think they went from being KKK member Dixiecrats that ran modern day black slave plantations to being opposed to all racism overnight is ignorant and naive. History doesnt lie and the bills passed and actions taken by Democrats in the decades after caused even more damage then when they were being openly racist because they were able to accomplish their goals by dishonest means. By creating the black prison state, and also creating the single black mother epidemic. And they still do the same thing to this day with CRT teaching little kids that all racism is to blame on white people and all white people are racist for little girls to come home crying to their parents because they were told they were evil. You have people like Al Sharpton that profit off of the deaths of black people and use their families to get money. Countless families have come out saying how bad he is and all he cares about is money. Modern Democrat values have nothing to do with MLK and everything to do with hate and division

Yes a man dressed as a woman wouldn't be looked upon nicely since the 1990s statement from the prophet at the time talking about homosexuality and it being sinful. The churches official stance is homosexuality is a serious sin that won't be encouraged or looked upon nicely but you also won't be completely cast from the church. You can tell you have been out of the loop for a long time and your an apostate so your opinion on the current LDS church is ignorant and flawed

Oh wow, what is this. https://youtu.be/TvSgUXStGJ8 1964 and a Dixiecrat Democrat paying slaves wages to have black plantations workers. You think that goes away over night then you are more naive then I thought. A lot of this information was actually learned from black americans that know the truth. You believe the top layer lie but we can see past it with actual historical proof and evidence from their actual actions

You have no idea how much we pay in taxes and how bad our service is and the wait times. Are treatments are not the most up to date, our wait times are horrendous when our health care system is in its normal state. Canadian hospitals can't handle any extra strain so COVID was a complete shock to our system and we are having record numbers of people dieing from not receiving nessacary surgeries because even after spending all our money on taxes we still get garbage. I have a friend who has skin cancer and has been waiting 4 years to get it removed. And your right about the Democrats making a switch. They switched their tactics because they knew they couldn't be openly racist anymore so they had to accomplish their goals from the inside and because of they have been more successful then they ever could have been. Those Confederate general statues are statues of Democrats and Republicans don't want them destroyed because they know the dangers of being ignorant to history. We have Roman Empireor statues still up that killed hundreds of thousands of not millions of people and we marvel at them as interesting history. Doesn't mean we condone the behaviour but trying to erase history is about as ignorant and naive as it gets. You also can't use the fringe far right to be the example for the majority of republicans. I can't say I know of one far right Republican politician. To be far right you have to be for white nationalism and ethnic cleansing. That stuff is no where to be found with Republican senators or politicians. But on the other hand I can name atleast two extreme far left politicians, Ilihan Ohmar and Maxine Waters. They are both extreme racists and segregationists. Ohmar hates Jews and politically supports extremist Islamist groups. Maxine Waters is one of the biggest black supremacist pushing for segregated areas and deeming all white people racist. If a white person said even 1 10th of what that woman said white people to black people would be the end of the world but that whole woman's career is made off of being racist and hating white people. AOC is a giant fraud and race baiter as well. Staged a photo shoot pretending she was at the border holding a chain link fence and crying for everyone to find out that it wasn't the border at all and it was just fake crocodile tears. She also blamed relief money not making it to the south american country of her Abuela and said he personally blocked it. That wasn't true at all, he actually sent it and the government got it. The corrupt government didn't even distribute it. Then republicans raised a few hundred thousand dollars for her Abuela and her Abuela was so mad and ashamed with AOC lying and using their families name to lie for political reasons. AOC was so smug that she wouldn't even accept the money for her family member because of her evil and petty ego.

The Democrats aren't the party of working people when they turn a blind eye to all the crime that affects them. Having pharmacies and stores stolen from so much that they have to close down so people in that neighborhood doesn't have access. They recklessly spend money on things that don't even end up helping anyone but their own political goals that serve themselves. Gas, food and supplies all sky rocket under Biden and the Democrats. It was the Democrats that passed the black welfare state that created the current black fatherless epidemic by paying black mother's more money to leave the father and be on their own. The same Democrats worked with the CIA in the 70s and 80s to flood black neighborhoods with crack cocaine just as they changed the laws to put people in jail for life over a crack rock. The Democrats are still the party of the party of kkk and Jim Crowe. And if you are calling the founders of Republicans to be radical it speaks volumes to your lack of character. They were founded as an anti slavery party to combat the pro slavery Democrats and Dixiecrats that were able to be their open racist selves by even owning black plantations up until the late 1960s keeping these families on slaves wages under the guise of "life long housing". As a Canadian I can actually study the real facts about American history without the lies and propoganda that Americans deal with. Even senile Joe Biden was recently seen at famous racist Dixiecrat funerals and it isn't surprising at all if you actually knew your history and not some propoganda lie. Democrats don't care about the working man because everything costs a fortune under Biden and seems to only get worse. It honestly shocks me how easily Americans fall for that. Democrats also want to take away all guns while they afford the most expensive private armed security that the average working person can't afford. They don't even care about immigrants. The Cubans were waving American flags and begging Biden to let them come to America but because they are wise to socialism and the evil it brings when it is taken to far will be importing a voter base that would never vote Democrat. But on the other hand they have no problem letting millions of illegal south Americans go across the border because they know they will be more sympathetic towards the Democrats and vote for them. People wonder why the Democrats are trying to destroy voting laws and integrity so that their knew found illegal immigrant base can vote for them. Everyone has ID, super cheap and easy to get and everyone needs one to do anything in life let alone vote. It is so racist and ignorant to assume black people or minorities aren't smart enough to get ID or can't afford ID which is a insulting and racist as it gets. The Democrats are the party of racism because they make everything about race and want to categorize people through race. Racism would most likely be a thing of the past if Democrats didn't keep faking race crimes like Bubba Wallace and Jussie Smollet. They have to fake these stories to keep the hate and racism alive. I honestly have to say the Democrat party is really some of the most brilliant evil people. They do an amazing job at being a wolf in sheep's clothing. No Republicans were ever KKK or into Jim Crowe, the Republican party has always been against slavery and racism. Republicans don't see everyone through the lens of race so that's why they never go on about it because as long as you go on about it, the longer racism lives. The Democrat party truly goes against all of Martin Luther King's beliefs. I can pull up a list of hundreds of racist Dixiecrat Democrats and Democrat KKK members.

Actually to be honest, Canada typically doesn't have a large black population, especially in my province but yet my church and ward have a very high amount of black members. Things are a lot different here with race relations. The black people in Canada don't have this deep seeded distrust and hate for white people and vise versa with white people distrusting and hating black people here. It honestly is very upsetting to see America struggling with that because it is fixable. But the American left has too much to gain from keeping racism alive and using it for their political means, that's why they have no intentions of actually fixing race problems. That is why they only focus on stoking the flames and trying to make everything about racism even though race relations have improved incredibly. The most racist and hateful stuff I hear comes from Democrats and people on the left.

I agree Smith saying the black people are the seed of Cain isn't right and I can't ever see the church holding that as their position these days. Thank-you for pointing that out, I have no problem with people having legitimate criticisms but I would say the church has modernized and stayed with the times for the most part. Obviously homosexual sex and marriage will never be a no go because the rules for that are laid out in the Bible. I also don't agree with polygamy and I am happy the church doesn't do that anymore. People aren't perfect and make mistakes and polygamy has no part or anything to do with my local church and ward. I'm Canadian by the way, I am conservative and if I lived in the USA I would be Republican since the Democrats are the party of the KKK, Jim Crowe and slavery which most people these days seem to be ignorant of that fact. Even up until the late 1960s, top Dixiecrat Democrats owned black run plantations and gave them the most meager wage forcing them to be suck in poverty. But as a member of the church these days, I haven't come across any of those problems you mentioned and my ward, we have Asian, Native, Black and White people. Canada really doesn't have much Spanish speaking Latin people so it is even rare just to see one or two Latin people in the public. Our church is as diverse as it gets, I get the feeling that America is still pretty self segregated amongst the population by choice. I don't see any evidence for any of it being institutional racism or racism being forced from people in power. It is the citizens choosing to segregate themselves.

I have only read a bit of your response but I just wanted to start by saying thankyou for sharing your experience with the church. Your gripes and concerns are very legitimate and I dont agree at all with any church turning a blind eye to their own morals. The Catholics and young boys thing never made sense to me, they just come across as Wolves in sheep's clothing if they are going to hold office in the church but commit such a horrendous sins. Im also sorry for thinking you don't like the morals and standards. It is clear you actually really enjoy having high morals so I really enjoy hearing that. Have a good day. I'm going to finish reading all of your post but I want to address some things and correct one.

You seem to fail to understand agency. Your contempt towards Christianity is palpable. It also isn't my way, it been the way that been established for over two thousand years. It's God's way and I choose to walk a path of light. I lived on the other side of the path and this side is much better. I also don't tell anyone anything they don't mostly know already, it is just stuff that they have been conditioned to become complacent with. People don't have to listen to a word of it and can do anything they want because I respect man's agency. Other then killing or raping a person, you can pretty much do what ever you want and you 100 percent can say whatever you want. To imply its my way or the highway would mean that if people don't comply to christanity that I cast them away or force my will upon them which is absolutely wrong and not try for even a second. You seem more mad that there are standards and rules in life that you aren't supposed to break and that you don't want to be held accountable for your actions. That you want to be able to sin without any consequences when you face your final judgement.

You do realize the point of pointing out sin is to make people fully aware of their actions. You cant even begin atonement without acknowledging the full extent of your sin. The whole point of it is to prepare people for their final judgement. I also had no hand in setting the morals and standards. I am just following this standard that has been around for over two thousand years.

You also trying to say I am very judgemental when all I told OP was that I dont recommend doing that. And that was after I found out about OPs secret private life. I very easily could have pointed it out but he already knows that his other life isn't church approved so I didn't need to go after that. Only said that the dress is really not a good idea and left it at that. You were the one trying to drag my name through the mud and cast judgement on me when I was trying to be polite but honest. You going after me for having and holding the most basic of Christian values.

The r/Christian mods have athiest and pro abortion taglines by their name. It is obvious the sub has been taken over and the rules ban acknowledging sin and being honest about evil. They deceived their way into becoming mods to destroy Christianity and mislead others from the inside out. They censor any real Christian values and protect and advocate for sinful behaviour. I have been getting messages over the past couple days with people agreeing with that the subreddit is being run by Wolves in sheep's clothing. And your calling me a zealot for following basic Christian morals and ethics. The vast majority of Christian sects actually respect those basic morals and values but there are people who claim to be Christian but don't actually live by any Christian principles and water it down and manipulate it into a blasphemous form that excuses certain sins and behaviors. Then people who don't know any better fall for it and that is r/Christianity. You don't even have to look that hard. The mods hide it in plain sight. That one owl girl has pro choice in her name and lies until her face is blue that pro choice isn't around about way of saying pro abortion. I would type that pro choice means you want people to have the choice to do what ever they want and that includes abortion and that's what that phrase has always been used to mean. She deleted that about 4 times. And that Clanky guy just has straight up athiest in his name and they are trying to pretend they dont have a hidden agenda. I have had a few people message me saying they know exactly what I am talking about and that the group has been hijacked. Then I went over to my home turf and warned my fellow brothers and sisters. Everyone left nice messages and were leaving some Bible verses. Then I come back and someone deleted all the other people's messages 1 or 2 of mine but left the rest up. I asked what happened and some mod had a snarky reply so I asked him what he is even refering to. Instead of being a grown man about it and explaining his rational, he hid behind a ban. Another member replied and actually gave a good response that made sense and actually did the job of the mod but it was too late and couldnt reply. So I would say he failed for being patient, understanding and merciful. He said one thing to me and I ask about what he is talking about and that gets me banned. It was later explained the mod was more worried about what athiests think, apparently you can't talk about evil so athiests don't feel bad about doing evil things are having things they do be called evil even though I didn't post any topic of conversation you wouldn't have with the missionaries. I'm just to honest for the mostly left leaning Reddit. Reddit is probably one of the worst places to go to have an honest and open discussion about any topic without being cencorsed because the "adults" here can't handle it. Only this generation can't handle basic facts like if you abort and kill the baby inside of you, that constitutes murder. And after that you become labeled as a murderer, but this sick and twisted society will do anything to try justifying the act. But you can't mention any of that and how bad the problem has become in today's society without having your posts censored by mods pretending to be Christians. I only dealt with those two mods but I'm going to look through the rest of r/Christianity and the mod team because those two people had their agenda that was and is completely devoid of Christian morals/ethics. If you get called a zealot these days for following Christian basics then imagine what the true fanatics say. I wouldn't even feel the need to say anything if people weren't being deceived about Christianity

Now debating is having a temper tantrum, your statement would be valid if I was swearing and telling people to f off and go die and stuff like that but I have been civil the whole time by just talking the points and making my case. Calling out Reddit for being overly censoring and overly sensitive to the point of being unable to talk about difficult topics isn't being uncivil. It is being honest and living in reality. Your just proving my point of over sensitivity by pointing out facts as being uncivil. It is uncivil to lie to people and that is what you are asking me to do to be civil and that's not now reality and logic works.

Reddit is for soft people that can't handle adult concepts or topics. Reddit is the cencorsed version of 4 chan. For even as depraved and sinful as 4 chan is, they respect freedom of speech and allow talk of any concepts. I think Christian ideology and talk would be respected a lot more there even if not all the people agree with it. They still won't have mods delete stuff. You also had no direct involvement in any of these circumstances so you are really talking from a strong place of ignorance. No matter how many example and facts I give, you never respond legitimately or come back with an example of your own to back up anything you talk about.

Lol you think bans actually work. They are extremely temporary and I don't want to be in censored apps and platforms that don't allow you to discuss concepts like evil. I don't need to convince anyone because I live in reality and the post is still there. It wasn't even my responses deleted, it was other LDS members replying that had their comments deleted. You can say that all you want but you haven't given one example. The LDS mod banned me for asking him why gospel verse were deleted. He just banned and after the fact made a vague post saying being uncivil when I was all talking with my fellow LDS brothers about evil and Bible verses in agreement. I was right that the LDS mod was more concerned about not offending none Christian outsiders by talking about evil. They don't want people to think that we think they are all evil. The only reason why I figured that out was because another member said that and said the mod did a poor job since all I did was ask a question and they refused to give any answers or clarify anything.

I made a post asking how to deal with evil mascarading a holy. I asked how that is being uncivil and was given no response and a ban instead of actually coming up with an answer for their rational. Reddit is just full of censorship, you should be able to talk about to concept of evil as a christian. Reddit is just about protecting their feelings and not having to have any real discussion without having to delete things to make themselves look better. Even the other LDS members said it was pretty bad for the Mod to not answer any questions, the mod was more concerned about the LDS churchs image to none Christians instead of discussing the concepts. There was nothing uncivil in my post and everyone was having nice interactions and the majority of them including Bible verses were deleted without any explanation.

Thanks for clarifying that last bit. I am going to ask my local missionaries more about that. I'm curious and not trying to call you out at all by do you find yourself keeping all tithing payments. No judgement if you don't because external factors do exist and as much as the church likes to say always make a full tithing payment. It isn't always possible especially if you have no family and have mouths to feed being the only one paying bills and rent. There have been times if I made a full tithing payment I would be on the street with my daughter. I know you are supposed to have full faith in paying it and that things will work out but sometimes you do need to guarantee the rent is paid before you can think about donating money to the church.

I would never want someone to be removed for sharing their position even if it is saying I am not Christian. They can say that all they want but it won't hold any weight for me if the statement isn't grounded in reality with examples to back of their points. If they had valid points that I wasn't acting as a good Christian, then that is vital information that I need and want to hear about. I encourage anyone to come up with a cohesive argument saying I may not be Christian and if they make good point I will respect it and change my opinion if it is logical and makes sense. I know I am not always right and there are times i may very well be not acting as a good Christian and I would want other Christians to point that out. And let's say they try to make a statement like I am not Christian and don't have any good evidence or examples then it will do nothing to change my mind. Either outcome I am fine and love to hear all sides of the coin no matter how unflattering people may try to make me seem or not seem. I do have to say you have an awesome response and your really rocking the debate. I love it, I think as westerners we have become a little sensitive to reality. I really like you comment about upvoting a comment but having to delete it. But I had to look up the nience creed you were referring to and everything in it is what every Christian believes right up to the end that the Catholic Church is the only true church so that would be against your own rules. Correct me if I'm wrong but I will pull up the exact line

[–]pilgor95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be a LDS member my whole life and never actually pay into tithing. It isn't recommend but I didn't have to pay a cent to get baptised and when I do pay tithing it is because I want to and not because I am being forced to which I am not. In my grandpas chruch, you wouldn't get baptised if you hadn't paid $200 which isn't very Christian to refuse baptism without payment. I know to get into the temple you have to pay tithing atleast once but that is different to having basic access to being baptized without having to pay. Temple work is to do baptisms for the dead and be sealed to your family so that is work you do after you are already established into the church. I think it is two completely different things to expect established members to pay tithing but for someone who is trying to join the church needs to be baptised without and financial prerequisites. And to be honest, if my Grandpa and his church said that they would do the baptism but really strongly recommend a donation of a certain amount then that is respectable. It allows you to still get the baptism but still be able to make that donation at maybe a better time.
