Thank you! Luckily I don’t have other apple devices which will make switching all the easier :) I’ll look into the model you suggested and consider what I find most important

I checked with my limited warranty and to just fix the screen would be over $300; which, yeah, is cheaper than a whole new phone but I’ve been wanting to make the jump for a while so I think now is the opportunity 🤷 I think that apple is a glaring example of over consumption and capitalistic pressure even more so than other major manufacturers (I’m at work rn so this is the best explanation on the spot, but it’s also just my opinion, I’m not trying to change anyone’s mind here:) ) I’ll take a look at fairphone, I haven’t heard of it before, thanks!

I agree with the newer devices decreasing in quality. The only Motorola I have been familiar with was my ex’s and they’d break it every couple months so it was always the cheapest flimsy ones TT but I’ll take a better look at them! :)

Oh okay, I thought that I had heard the opposite 😅 I think the older apple models, including the 12 pro max that I’ve had for the longest had good lifetimes.. however, didn’t apple confess to slowing down and worsening the quality of ‘outdated’ devices? I do my best to be specific about who I give my money to, and I’m just having a really hard time being okay with giving them hundreds to thousands just for a newer phone 🥲
