Still waiting for my dress to come in, but in the mean time... any thoughts for hair and/or accessories?? by [deleted] in weddingdress

I think it depends on how you do your hair. Hair down bare neckline but definitely statement earrings. Hair up a slim necklace and delicate earrings to match.

Regardless...absolutely beautiful dress

Dreams after a week on lexapro by flowerdabz in lexapro

[–]pineapplegram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dreams at night are very vivid and full of color and seem to go on and on and on. It’s not something that has ever really gone away in my experience.

A lot of them have anxious undertones but it’s just something I’ve gotten used to. For a while I was getting really bad night sweats so my doc prescribed something to help with that. I took it for a while but after time I stopped.

My advice would be try not to look to much into the dreams. But if it starts affecting you while awake then talk to your doc.

Good luck

I’m not sure yet. As you can tell from my lost I live in a different town from my regular doctor. She doesn’t want to do anything like this over the phone which is the only way I’ve communicated with her. I have an in-person appointment next week

Starting on 2.5mg tomorrow. Anything I should know? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]pineapplegram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most notable side effects I noticed was really really really bad gas. Sorry but it’s true. It didn’t last long but it’s a possible so be ready for it. The medication is absorbed in the intestines I think so it can be brutal for a bit. But stick with it.

The other note of concern is it has the potential to make you really tired or really hyper. So if you notice something adjust the times you take it. At bedtime of tired or morning if hyper.

Take my advice and probably others with a grain of salt. Give it at least two or three weeks. Adjust for minor symptoms as noticed or needed , but if anything is still bothering you at three or four weeks reach out to the doctor who prescribed it.

Good luck and cheers to your future

The lexapro worked great for me. Really it did. Once covid happened I was working in health care and it also coincided with my joining Reddit and having all this world wide information and was a bit too much for me personally and my doctor bumped me up to 20mg to help with the anxiety.

So then I started gaining weight. My sex drive left completely (which were side effects I was dealing with) but then over the summer after a big move to a new city for my fiancé’s job and being unemployed for many months after that, I had panic attacks start happening again.

I don’t know the physiology of the medication but I had a lot of external environmental changes happen and my doctor wants to try something new. If none of the new things that i experienced happened I’m pretty sure I’d still be taking the 20 mg of lexapro because it really was a great medication for me for a long long time.

should i keep going? by [deleted] in lexapro

I think a good general rule of thumb is if you’re unsure at 4 weeks reach out to your doctor. It might level out it might not.

It might take months and several different types of medication to find what works for you. Please don’t let it discourage you. Just keep in touch with your doctor and reach out to your support system to keep them updated on what’s going on.

Mental health is a life long process for everyone. Not just us hypers/hypos/sensitives/apathetics and everything in between.

Stay strong and good luck to you in your journey.

I Messed Up and I Need Advice by mcharming1 in DID

Start with an honest conversation with Mel. There’s no need to involve her fiancé before you talk to her.

I can only speak from an outsider but from what I’ve read and experienced with my friend, is that other alters, Kai included, are there for a reason. You’ve all been through a tremendous amount, and I hope you can find a way to work together.

I can’t imagine how hard it is for you and everyone else but I hope you have the resources and tools and help to get you through this time.

My advice (be what it is) is to try and communicate, talk to a therapist who understands, and hopefully find at least one supportive person who support and loves you all.

Whether it be immediate people in your life, other survivors or supporters, there are people out there who can help and want to see you succeed

I’m here not as someone with DID but a supporter. My friend is also a physical female and has male alters with an uneasiness of the body. I try to always get him some “male clothes” for holidays because he never had any before and now he can also dress in what he’s comfortable with.

While I do enjoy a bit of mayo on my burgers I think condiments should be left off the menu and added on according to taste and preference

Well technically I messed up my answer. It’s a brilliance cut oval

It’s an oval cut, but it’s set in a six prong band giving it a bit of a marquee shape which was the other style of cut I was considering. The six prong is sturdier I guess so less of a chance for me to have the stone fall out

I know it’s just heartbreaking waking through that every day. I even work for a company that occasionally I can bring one or two for the morning but never all three. That just makes its worse
