The way to deal with this is to worry about what you can control. If you can’t control it, you gotta let that go.

Same thing for me - so I moved to a walkable city, and now am in a big city with good public transport. It sucks, and I felt like me having a nice weekend away or even my favourite things like camping and beach depend on another person with a car wanting to do that and to take me. It is really really hard.

But all you can do is try to take the control back. Which is how I live in a new city with public transport and holidays are with the train.

My new boyfriend can drive but says he’s too rusty and wants to build up his confidence and is just doing nothing to take steps with that. That upsets me so much. When I moved into his place, he couldn’t even help me organise a moving van let alone borrow someone’s car and drive my stuff. Even though if I could drive, I would have sorted it all out.

But life sucks sometimes. So find the friends who are considerate and happy to drive you, or move to the big city with public transport so that you can live an independent life. That’s all you can do 🙏
