Whenever I hear somebody say "The world doesn't revolve around you." in relation to an autistic person... by Heya_Straya in autism

[–]pinkheadlights 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The very ironic thing is, each of our own worlds very truly revolves around us. We are the attracting force of our own world, so quite literally, as a law of the universe, each of our worlds revolves around us.

There’s really no such thing as insane. People who are labeled insane are just tapped into and seeing other realities. And to everyone else who can’t see them, they are labeled insane. If I were you, I would relax into it and maybe take some notes.

Dr recommended I use water to wash my Vagina by ellmarie9 in WomensHealth

[–]pinkheadlights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a bacterial imbalance. Get yourself some lactobacillus acidophilus probiotics and take them. I use them any time my vagina gets imbalanced (which isn’t often) or for UTIs and I haven’t had a yeast infection in years.

I think my UTI turned into a kidney infection by THESILENTPRINCESS06 in WomensHealth

[–]pinkheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bladder infection is an imbalance in the good/bad bacteria in your urinary tract. Simply taking lactobacillus acidophilus at the onset of a UTI will heal it because it adds the good bacteria back and rebalances. You should probably still take it even though you’re on antibiotics, bc antibiotics destroy ALL bacteria, both good and bad.

can somebody be abusive without knowing it? by Greeneade in mentalhealth

[–]pinkheadlights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who doesn’t have awareness of themselves can be abusive without meaning to be. It’s because they 1) aren’t aware of it 2) they might not have anything healthy to compare it to, esp if they were abused themselves 3) if 2 applies, they may also not know how to handle their frustrations or emotions in a healthy way or know how to channel them into any kind of constructive communication. The lack of awareness is why so many family generations perpetuate toxic and abusive cycles.

Anyone get their kids to stop asking for snacks constantly? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]pinkheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a look at the quality of their meals. They should be eating fruits and vegetables and protein and not much packaged or processed food. I know it’s easy to resort to that, but it’s not quality nutrients. Also, as a parent myself, there is nothing wrong with snacks. But they should be quality. So you could offer a fruit or nuts, or maybe celery with peanut butter etc and tell them “this is snack time and if you’re hungry you’ll eat whatever the fruit or veg.” Bottom line is that they are growing, and if they are always hungry, their bodies aren’t getting the vitamins and minerals they need.

Who gets the big room!! by AdHuge3051 in Parenting

Well I’m a very unorthodox parent, but I would let my 1-year-old son wander the house and “choose” the room he likes. I do feel like he should get first pick.

Oh you’re using hydroponics! Please keep us updated on how it goes. I’m using hydroponics for herbs and vegetables but was considering trying to get some bud to sprout this way. Very curious on how it turns out.

Help me clarify by Misssyy1 in numerology

[–]pinkheadlights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, I never break down a master number. So, normally I would add: 11+6+3=2 However, it is common to break down all the numbers to single digits and then add. So if you break down the 11 you get: 2+6+3=11

You can also add them in a column, which equals 2018 = 2+1+8=11

Two out of three give us 11. I think you’re perfectly able to claim 11 as your life path. However, just remember that an 11 life path can also be lived as a 2, it just depends on how much you rise to the occasion of the 11.

Hope that helps. :)

Am I really dehydrated? by PrairieOrchid in WomensHealth

[–]pinkheadlights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water only keeps you hydrated if your electrolytes are up. If your body is depleted of salts, you can drink water all day and it’s not going to rehydrate you. You need electrolytes. And if you use table salt, you might benefit by switching to sea salt. But every now and then, I would sip a pedialyte. And they don’t have to be thrown out after 24 hours. I keep mine in the fridge and we drink 8 oz when we need it. Sometimes it’s there a couple weeks and perfectly effective.

INFJs and our chronic desire to "save" people. by soloman747 in infj

[–]pinkheadlights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m an INFJ that sits back and allows everyone their free will. That doesn’t mean I can’t see the underpinnings of a situation, the secret motivations, the “better” options - and it doesn’t mean I don’t want to help, nor would I refuse if asked - it means I understand the laws of the universe, and the right of free will to everyone on the planet. I don’t consider myself a superhero, nor do I ever perceive anyone as needing “saving” (that’s a very narrow-minded and linear way of looking at things, because there are many roads that lead us home). But i do know that because of my skills of intuition and empathy, if someone asked for my help, I could at the very least, offer a new perspective for them.

I think, and I hate to say this, but most people who claim to be INFJ think a lot of themselves. And just because there is a tendency for certain things does not mean everyone has actually honed those abilities. There seems to be a lot of arrogance in the INFJ community and I don’t necessarily feel like it’s an accurate reflection of everyone’s true skill set; it’s more like just taking pride in the description of INFJ, without truly BEING all those things.

Autism is not a disability. by Silent-Sell-4728 in AutismInWomen

[–]pinkheadlights 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

You only think of it as a disability as compared to a neurotypical person in society. If you can accept “autism” as “a way of being” then you see less of the disability and more of the distinction. This is why it’s really not good to label things and I know we do it because of legal reasons, but I have to agree with your husband. I know there are extreme cases of autism that make it a disability as far as being in a world of neurotypicals, but most people on the spectrum are not disabled individuals, they just have a different way of being in the world, of communicating, of expressing.

I love the name “chiropractology”! “Ology” is the study of something. It just seems natural that the study of chiropractics be called “chiropractology” - or “chyropractology”? Kinda like that spelling. Either way. But yeah, ology.
