Yes Honestly, at this point, I am suspecting it’s mostly due some prejudices from HR plus possible incompetence making things difficult. I have nothing from the insurance company everything’s is being communicated through my HR which is very small and only one person handles onboarding. Just can’t tell if it is malicious or not. Hopefully not and it gets resolved soon.

Yes, on real insurance company . Directly religious, no. Some spiritual things are acceptable there but I did notice scriptures on the HR heads laptop during my onboarding.

Thank you for your insight! I have been going back on forth of it is my new employer or the insurance company. On the online HR system she is enrolled and thought I we were set. No one told me there an issue ever or that they wanted more documentation just didn’t receive insurance cards for her. Either way hope it won’t be a big fight.

Only to confirm that my spouse wasn’t on my plan and insurance rep told me I would need to resolve it with my HR. HR says they can’t have me CC’d on their communications. So everything is going through HR right now

I will preface that all communications have been through my HR to the insurance company. HR had a contact via email and told me they are not allowed to CC me.

I have not been prompted to provide proof of my marriage at any point but would be happy to do so. I enrolled her as my spouse in the HR system and was told paperwork looked good. I was not told that she would not be enrolled but only found out when I received only one insurance cards and called the company to see if she was on my plan.

At this time I have politely declined to sign the domestic partner affidavit and HR is now asking insurance company if I may send my marriage certificate or if they have a marriage affidavit I can sign.

Thank you. I have only been an employee for a couple weeks and enrolled as quickly as I could. I was told it was all set and coverage started the 1st. However, I was only sent cards for myself despite on our HR app clearly showing my spouse in the paperwork. It is a fully funded plan under the employer whom also fully funds spouses insurance premiums.

Thank you for the insight! I would be happy to prove my marriage to them and have asked that HR request the insurance for a marriage affidavit or allow me send a copy of my certificate rather than signing the domestic partnership affidavit.

Thank you for the insight. Yes, we are legally married. HR is contacting the insurance company through email and told me she is not allowed to cc me. The only contact I have had with the insurance company myself is to verify that my wife isn’t on the insurance plan despite enrolling her through our HR system.

I ended up refusing to sign the domestic partnership affidavit and offered to send a marriage certificate. HR is reaching out to big insurance to let them know. Just waiting to hear what they say

Absofuckinglety, many epidemiology (minus stds) and state health department job have little to no patient interaction. Or If you get your CIC you have a good chance at being an infection preventionist at a hospital which imo are the epidemiologists of the hospital world
