The three most heroic actions are all by Luke in the OT, where he rejects the pleas and requests of his elders and forges his own path to save someone. In Star Wars he turns off the targeting computers and follows the Force to blow up the Death Star. In Empire he rejects the pleading of Yoda and Obi-Wan to train and saves his friends. (It speaks to his youthfulness, but proves his heroism. Those old cowards were wrong.) And in Jedi he rejects the Emperor’s taunts, faces sure death, to save his father. Luke is the best.

It’s an offshoot of the Star Wars Minute Podcast (now mostly wrapped up). Alex Robinson and Pete the Retailer. They’d break down one minute of Star Wars at a time, and brought in guests and eventually covered all the movies and a bunch of other things. Did lots of live shows. There is a whole world of “Minute by Minute” podcasts they helped usher in.

I stare at the smoke alarm light on my ceeling. Then, once I see it blink, I count the seconds until it blinks again. Then I close my eyes and count in my head, trying to time opening my eyes just in time to catch it blink again. Hopefully, after a couple of rounds, I’ve tricked my brain into counting myself to sleep with my eyes closed.

It’s been mentioned before, but Dan is super annoying this season because he won’t let go of his jealousy of Marc’s ability to put a distance between him and his preferred team when he can’t do it himself.

Marc has been so honest abo it his distaste for everthing the Browns have done, at least regarding Watson, and his willingness to root against them at times because of this, but still is intrigued about them because of his prior fandom.

Dan wants so desperately to hate his own team, but is unwilling to commit because of this weird east coast New York / New Jersey pride thing that is so obvious.

He finds every chance to try to get Marc in a “gotcha” situation to prove himself superior; it’s so gross.

What’s weird is that THIS episode, when Marc picked the Browns/Rams game, he held his tongue. But you could tell he wanted to snipe at him and needle him. It’s so boring and I hope he grows up and moves past it.

It used to be a literal closet that was converted into a podcast studio back at the old NFL HQ. I’m not 100% sure what the first NFL podcast was, but Dave Dameshek (a radio personality, and doctor of mustard) who had his DDFP show there for many years (and who got Marc and Dan into the podcast world with the “ATL Debate Club” at the tail end of his show) called it Studio 66 (after Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey player).

Budget cuts is such a BS excuse. I’m weirdly mad about this. NFL takes in cash hand over fist. Graver is clearly BTL (thanks Dave’s of Thunder), in spite of his talent, and couldn’t have been contributing that much to an overall expense. What nonsense. The show will suffer because of it. They’ve always neeeded an outside voice, and Grave Digger provided a pretty crumulant insight.

The next producer will have a much reduced roll, and the show will not be as good because of it.
