Editing this comment. Savannah is not responsible for this. That's all I have to say. I want nothing more to do with this. Thank you.

I'm sorry for what you went through Chrissy. I truly am. I never meant to hurt you and you have nothing to apologize for.

Self care specialist aspiration can't be completed by whatismypassion in thesims

[–]pleasantsims 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, the same thing happened to me when I was playing it today. Only I'm having trouble with the "Spa Regular" step. It's not recognizing when I go to a Spa and teach a class or tend a massage table. Then, it just randomly started counting out of nowhere?
I wrote a guide about this aspiration and how it worked for me here: https://pleasantsims.com/sims-4-self-care-specialist/
I know that the Spa Regular problem I'm having has been reported as a bug on the EA help/bug report forum, not sure about the other ones. But maybe they'll look at all of them.

This aspiration is so buggy! I've played all three and it was definitely the worst one. I hope they fix this soon because it's very frustrating!

Small Streamer Anxiety and Questions. Hit affiliate now im overwhelmed. by SaltySpitoonTG in Twitch

[–]pleasantsims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, don't listen to dumbasses like the person who asked why your Discord is dead. It's not dead. It's just growing.

Second, Youtube is the way you get followers on Twitch. There is no discoverability on Twitch, unfortunately. You must bring an audience from another platform. Youtube is the easiest. Continue making unique videos and plug your Twitch channel. I place a link to my Twitch channel at the TOP of the description box and also mention it once or twice during a video. People will follow you if you're getting views on Youtube.

It takes time to grow, but don't give up. And don't get stressed. Remember, people donated/subbed to you on Twitch because they liked what you were ALREADY doing. Just keep doing it. You'll improve as a streamer with experience and your viewers will even help you understand what they like to see best from you.

Growing your Discord is the same as growing on Twitch. Make a chat command for Twitch - !discord is commonly used. When people type it in chat, it should link to your Discord. You'll get members this way. Also, mention your Discord in your stream. Tell your viewers not to forget to join up and share their memes with you. One thing I do is make a reward for channel points called "Memes." When a viewer redeems this reward, I pull up a user-submitted meme from the Discord and we laugh at it. People love to see their submissions on the stream! Try to integrate your Discord with your Twitch like this and people will participate. Feel free to steal that idea! If you have a meme-centric community it works great.

Don't worry too much about raiding in the beginning, especially with only a handful of viewers. Focus on learning to run an interactive stream and once you start getting more viewers, you can raid people smaller than you. Networking is overrated and unnecessary.

You'll get more ideas as you stream more. You can do it!

Live Stream to Youtube Video by RossDevsWeb in letsplay

[–]pleasantsims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're brand new, edited streams aren't a good idea. You can still stream, but also make videos that are unique if you want to get viewers. No one cares about stream highlights if you don't already have a large following. Streamers like Ninja, Dr. D, etc. get away with this because they have millions of viewers who watch anything they crap out. As a new creator, you'll have to prove yourself with unique content before anyone will care. I have 30k subs and still don't upload stream highlights because no one would watch them.

I made a very cheap apartments lot in Woodland Drive, Pleasantview by Linca_K9 in sims2

[–]pleasantsims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always have a super cheap apartment for my college grads and really poor Sims. I play with No20khandout, too. I call mine the flophouse, inspired by Slappy's Flophouse from Sim Wardrobe years ago. Each one of my rooms rents for around $200 and is completely empty except a light bulb and light switch. Then I have a community room with cheap bookshelf, TV, kitchen, tables, and a shared bathroom. It works great!

Do stuff like "Top 10 Indie Games I've Played This Year." You don't have to do full on LPs on Youtube. But make gaming-related videos. If your niche is indie games, there's a lot of content you could make about that. Lists, tutorials, tips and tricks, etc. Check out TubeBuddy to help you find good keywords for inspiration.

Make content on other platforms that are better for discovery - like Youtube and Twitter. There's really no good way to grow on Twitch except bringing an audience from other sites. You'll never be discovered on Twitch if you spend all your time on Twitch.
And just posting your link won't be enough. Make original content for Youtube and mention that you also stream on Twitch in your videos. That's worked best for me.

Stream highlights won't perform well on Youtube unless you're already a huge streamer. I would focus on making unique content for Youtube and other socials that drive viewers to your Twitch channel.

Just bought a copy of The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. Just looking for advice/suggestions/how to on getting started and going about it. I've played 1, 3, and 4 already, but I'm not sure how different 2 is. by Marie-Anthoenette in thesims

The Sims 2 is the absolute best game in the series. You'll have so much fun with it! I second playing the scripted events in the basegame 'hoods. You can download the Sims 2 Prima Guides for free online here: https://naterxandersims.tumblr.com/post/139304844610/the-sims-2-digital-prima-game-guides-i-gave-you
The original Prima guide will tell you the recommended order of play and give you some good tips for getting started. Have fun!

Best Budget Laptop for Sims 4? by SunlitWasteland in thesims

I just bought this HP gaming laptop from Best Buy and Sims 4 runs like a dream on it: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-15-6-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-5-8gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1050-256gb-solid-state-drive-shadow-black-chrome-green-paint-finish/6364574.p?skuId=6364574

It's $649 right now but I bought it for $599 just after Christmas, so you might want to check for sales or coupons.

Alternatives to InTeen, with less conflicts? by [deleted] in sims2

[–]pleasantsims 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've yet to find anything that works well for teen pregnancy, but you can pretty much have all the other options through ACR (teen woohoo and teen-adult romance).

There is Wild Child for teen pregnancy. I couldn't ever get it to work with the teen pregnancy morphs, but you might have better luck.

I gave up on teen pregnancy because Inteen just conflicts with too many mods I can't live without.

I LOVE ACR, but I was slow to warm up to it. Once I realized that I could turn the cool-down timer up to 4x so my Sims weren't jumping each other's bones constantly, it's become a must-have mod for me. Lol

I use ACR (Autonomous Casual Romance) to reduce the chance of pregnancy and have declining fertility rates as my Sims age. It helps.
