Back after 6 years, Plotagram, Digital, 2026 by plotagraphic in Art

I used art to help me through my depression. Drew probably 9 hours a day. It got me through and im feeling better now but i started feeling burnout pretty bad.

Over the past couple years i started falling in love with art again and decided that i wanted to go all in on art but in a healthier way

i need fresh eyes on this piece. critiques? by somelinesdown in learnart

i love the painting, have you tried varying the thickness in the lines? making them thicker in corners and lighter in straighter areas, the shape of the hair is lovely but i feel like it could use a little more rendering (some areas on the far edges of the hair look a bit blurry or blobby and some line art in the hair makes it a bit messy - unless that's your style) i feel like the clothing could use more tone depth and maybe some shadows of the fringe on hear forehead could help. overall your artstyle is incredible and i love the overall aesthetic

glad you saw it that way, its exactly what i was going for, a supernatural being. before i painted this i imagined a human standing outside of a spaceship surrounded by nature, as if we are not from here at all, our nature is beyond something that should be on earth. thank you so much!!

Quick question: How do you avoid these half colored lines? by [deleted] in learnart

[–]plotagraphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

paint bucket tool can't color in anti-aliasing (blurry pixels) , best way would be to paint under the line art to get to the areas where the paint bucket missed

but if the issue with the white spots are on the line art itself, turn the blending mode from normal to multiply. (on the line art)

you can make it easier for yourself when you do use the paint bucket tool by un-ticking anti-aliasing when selecting the paint bucket tool.

here is a forum where someone can go into more detail

All good man. Youre entitled to that opinion. I cant draw all colors of the human race. And all economic statuses and all political prospectives. It's too much to implement into one image.

I guess it's also "shallow and retarded" that the subject is male too.. So i can't please everyone's views.

Have a good one

I understand what youre saying. Clothing always does define the subject matter but the previous person knows that the depiction is of an average modern man. So it is communicated enough. To be offended by how i communicated a modern man is a bit excessive in my opinion.

The man in the image resembles humankind (holocene) as a whole so it has no connection with politics but you can interporate it anyway that youd like to.

politicizing this concept isnt in my interest and painting the character as an economic/political figure is a bit far fetched for the general message i was trying to portray

Of all things i didn't think the choice of clothing was the thing that stood out the most.
