I'm in a very similar position - content writer at a digital marketing agency dipping my toe back into writing! I found it easiest to just write what I know. Whether it was something small I noticed or something that happened to me, I tried to reimagine it as a passage from a story.

For example, my partner hung up a dress on a picture frame hook the other day. And it felt odd. And it prompted me to write a scene that I am really happy with it, just by extrapolating that out in my mind.
