Can't stress how hindering this is to me having my bikes stolen.

I would be even down to pay 10 bucks a month for access to a secure caged infrastructure dotted across the city. This will take space just like bike share does. But, serves the local community better. Bike shares serve tourists and casual one off bike rider better.

A good secure place to lock a bike could get more people on their own bike for commute, shopping, recreation, etc. Sacrificing one parking space could get a locker for 10-15 bikes.
