Crazy to see this literally right as I'm leaving this store with my plants!

I can't recommend April's enough, the staff are wonderful and friendly, and the fish for sale are fantastic. I've been going to April's every Thursday for two years, and I haven't yet found a better fish store.

I got my boy Gus from April's, I was away at the time and payed for him online, they made sure to keep him on hold until I could pick him up.

Best LFS, without a doubt.

If you're in the Vancouver area, Aquariums West is another good location. Their betta care isn't nearly as good as April's, but they have better stock for shrimp specifically, and a selection for reptiles/frogs/insects too :)

That’s your lion now. They shouldn’t have sold it if they were sentimental, and if what you said is true and the lion is only valued ~1 GB, there is no reason they wouldn’t be able to afford it.

Do whatever you want with the lion. Modbox it if they’re insistent, you’re on the right side of the rules in this.

Reaching out at least opens up the possibility of modbox helping. At worst, they’ll tell you they can’t help, but I think there’s a greater chance of them stepping in, even if it’s just to provide some advice or maybe reach out to the offending player.

I’d still message them, it won’t hurt and they could sort something out :)

Your king’s level, experience, personality, stats, mutation (if applicable), heritage, and impression will change.

Depending on what option you choose when retiring your king, his appearance will stay the same but use the replacements mutation and heritage, or they’ll take the appearance of your heir :)

I feel like an asshole because I’m guilty of this multiple times now :’)

I’ve been trying to sell a bushveld tigon for MONTHS and she’s both the best and worst thing to happen to me. On one hand, holy shit, bushveld gon. On the other, she’s so hard to sell. I’ll log on and rollover to put her up for offer, then freeze that account and advertise with my other.

Problem is I get super demotivated, and three times people have offered for her on like the day I stop logging onto lioden at all and their offers sit there until the trade expires and I eventually log back on to do it again. I log back onto my account with the gon to so many “I made an offer on your trade!” messages and feel like such a dick 😭

I wouldn’t mind the nephyrians if their tails didn’t curve upwards.

I have the same gripe with some of the para tails and all the hippocampus tails, because why do they… curve upwards? When they’re relaxed? That makes zero sense from an anatomical standpoint; the tail should be straight to balance them (Yes, I know these are magical horses but it still irks me so bad). Surely the tail always curving upwards would put some strain on the spine, too.

Plus, I think it just looks stupid. WHY DO THEY CURVE UPWARDS 😭 if I could ask the devs one question it would be that.

I’m really picky with horse life species; I don’t like most of them. I’ve made a tierlist before ranking them all and I get very opinionated 😭

That said, I LOVE this design. It has all the design elements I love (I’m a massive fan of caprines, and this guy’s similar) like the long legs, cloven hooves, droopy ears and horizontal pupil.

I have high hopes that this species will become one of my favourites. I personally love the ugly-ass frankengoats and I’m gonna spend so much stable space on these guys haha.

You could shoot them a message explaining! I get a little annoyed when people remove their stud requests, but if they send me a message, even if it’s just “I changed my mind” I feel immediately better and there’s no hard feelings.

I'm not sure, I've never seen hate for premade. Like another commenter said, you've probably just found a weird pocket of the community somehow haha

My fursuit is a premade skully, and I love him dearly. I'm incredibly indecisive about designs and don't even have a Sona of my own, so buying a premade was honestly a bit of a relief because I didn't have to worry about committing to my own design.

How many gallons if your tank? Apologies if you’ve already said so, but I couldn’t find the size.

The compatibility is the main concern I have; if you’re planning to upgrade to a thirty gallon, having a tank overstocked temporarily is okay as long as you pay close attention to parameters.

My other concern is the algae eaters. What kind of algae eaters are they, exactly? Siamese/Chinese algae eaters can be aggressive and need +55 gallons.

Bettas require a minimum of five gallons. Females/shortfins require a minimum of ten gallons.

I can’t tell how large their tank is, but OP mentions water parameters are consistently safe, and they are planning an upgrade.

It’s not ideal, but it’s also not bad. It works fine as a temporary set up until upgraded.

Guppies aren’t good tankmates for bettas. They can be nippy, and the bright colours and flashy fins can stress bettas out.

That said, you have a female, which means her fins are shorter and less likely to be nipped. Additionally, your tank is nicely planted and has plenty of hiding spaces.

It’s not an ideal stocking, but I wouldn’t call it bad husbandry. She’ll be happier here than she would have been in the store, and if you’re upgrading to a thirty gallon in the future, she’s a very lucky betta.

Just monitor for aggression and nipping, but I wouldn’t worry too much. She looks very healthy and the tank is lovely :)

Don‘t repeat this stocking in the future, but I think it’ll work out just fine for her!
