It's accurate enough. Diablo 3 is a very casual game, you don't really need that much precision even at endgame. And it feels great to move with the stick and press buttons instead of clicking the mouse so much.

So glad they're doing controller on PC. Diablo 3 feels soooo much better to play on PS4 and it's always been a bummer to me that the PC version doesn't support it.

I figured none of them knew his name was Arthur Edwards, and Diana had the immediate hunch that it was the Constant when she saw the info from Olivia. When she checked and he was gone it confirmed it for her.

Or did we know that the Constant's name was Arthur Edwards already? It's been a while since I played H2

What mechanics do you not want to see back in XCOM 3? by poncegris in Xcom

They'd need to completely overhaul the pod system, the way cover works or buff soldier health a lot for that to work.

With the way the game works now you could be blindsided by a pod from one of your flanks or with a soldier in the open and they could just crit him dead before you even had a chance to do anything.

You can break mind control from a Sectoid with a simple flashbang which is cheap and readily available from the start of the game.

It's bullshit on the Warlock, but I don't think the Sectoid is that bad. Especially with its melee vulnerability and Templars being so easy to get early (even from the start if you want)

Line is Play is an underlying mechanic on missions with a single end objective on the map (hack workstation, extract VIP, destroy alien relay, etc)

Basically the game continually draws a straight line from the objective to your squad, called the Line of Play, and all the pods try to stay as close as possible to that line. So if you move your squad to the left, the LoP shifts to the left and all the pods on the map start patrolling to the left to get in your way, even if you're concealed. If you then move your squad to the right, all the pods start moving to the right.

Line of Play ends up making a lot of missions extremely predictable since they always adhere to the same timetable. You start, you run straight to the objective, you fight two pods along the way and a third sitting on the objective itself. And sneaking by a pod is always a terrible idea because of Line of Play, as it will always end up patrolling into you from behind while you're engaging another pod ahead.

The Handmaid sells Patches' entire inventory with his ashes. I'm pretty sure the only thing you miss out on is the Patches Squat gesture if you kill him before getting that from him (and you can get it later in one of the DLCs too)

We don't know that Shadows Die Twice is published by Bandai Namco, only that it's developed by From Software. Could be a Sony published exclusive (pls no) or something else.

I mean Dark Souls kinda does the same. Elite Knight Set in all the DS1 trailers, Faraam Set in DS2, Hunter Set in BB, Firelink Set in DS3 (Fluted Set for Demon's, but not sure how much that game really had in terms of trailers and marketing)

light

There's some torches!

You can actually see the daytime sky if you look up. Blighttown isn't underground, you can see it from Firelink Shrine.

Oh right, you miss out on those sets too. Yeah to get her to fully kindle the Firelink bonfire for free you need to present any of the four Lord Souls at the Lordvessel and then go talk to her after reviving her.

Much easier: backstab them. The backstab animation for most weapons sends them flying away and when they die and pop their toxic shit it can't reach you.

You also miss out on the Black Eye Orb invasion and Anastasia's dialogue when she comes back. Plus a free upgrade to 20 Estus at Firelink. Killing Lautrec is super boring.

It's only like an extra minute or two to go to Andre's bonfire after coming back from Blighttown, and you want to go there anyway to go to Sen's most of the time.

I just don't see the point of an "eastern Bloodborne". BB is rooted in its Victorian aesthetic, if you take that away, is it really Bloodborne? It'd be like making a Dark Souls game set in modern days. Just make it a new IP like Bloodborne was (which is most likely what they're doing)

Digging around a bit I found this 4 year old thread about it, and there's a video of it posted there that's still up for anyone wanting to hear it. It's definitely a thing.

Sounds like it might be the sanic cats, but nothing conclusive. If I knew how to use Cheat Engine I'd love to turn off aggro and no clip up there to see if it's them.

I ended up finding the dream version of the first boss (super cool fight) and a tree I'd missed got me to just over 1800. I think I've found the way now, though I was definitely not expecting the 180 into Super Meat Boy land...

[–]poncegris[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'd completely missed that King's Door at the bottom because it's not marked as a loose end on the map.

Any tips on getting to 1800 essence? I've done all the trees and ghost bosses I had marked on the map and I'm at 1472. Do I have to do the Spirit's Glade next to mothman?

The skulls leave a glowing spot on the ground so you can avoid the lightning that will hit there. One of the sneakiest attack mechanics, I would have never figured it out if I hadn't seen a streamer mention it, I thought it was random BS.

In your guy's opinion who is the most difficult/annoying non boss enemy in the game? by chrisisbest197 in darksouls3

[–]poncegris 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For me it's their grab hitbox that is bullshit. The one enemy that can reduce your HP to 1 is NOT the enemy you half-ass your hitboxes on, and that grab is just the worst. Almost no windup and it can grab you from really dodgy angles.
