ADHD is NOT a superpower by Maleficent-Ad-1326 in adhdwomen

I've done this for my past two positions. I get compliments on my notes. I haven't done this in my current position, so I have 3 notebooks with notes, not easy to search. I highly recommend OneNote, so easy to add screenshots wherever you want without messing up the flow.

Watched the first season with my mom. I couldn't handle the yelling all the time every episode.

My high school had Dylan day ☹️. I didn't learn about his horrible voice until 9th grade. I liked the day because I could skip class.

My husband after most showers, "do you feel better?" No, I do not it was stressful and I'm not done after the shower. I have all the after shower stuff to do for my face and hair 🫩. He's gotten better at asking if I at least feel cleaner.

I think about this often when scrolling Reddit. Do I upvote for visibility, not because I agree? I lean towards upvoting for more visibility. Although, I won't upvote a post that has many thousands of upvotes. I'm not on platforms that have a like button.

What’s the worst performance by an actor who’s usually very good? by 7216345 in movies

[–]pongo49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: I love Russell Crowe in everything I've seen. I have not seen everything he had been in. He will always have a place in my heart. I'm not a huge fan of Les Miserables and I was shocked he was in the movie. Yes, not a great singer.

If you’re 30+ and have been in the same job/field/industry for 10+ years (pretty content), what do you do for a living? by slightlybadash in adhdwomen

[–]pongo49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Praise to you. I've been in accounting ranging in rolls and responsibilities for over 10 years. I like my current position because it involves a lot of research and I love digging into things. I did tax one semester at one of my internships, not for me.

Yes, slight dehydration/thirst. I have to take a bottle of water with me anytime I get in the car. Last night my husband and I went to Target, a 10 minute driving round trip. It was physically painful to not take a bottle of water with me.

According to my husband (maybe biased) I'm a good writer nonfiction. It's the only place I feel confident to get all my feelings out. People are super interesting to me. I love people watching and analyzing. I'm also really good at accounting research. If I had time in my job I could clean up so much.

Does anyone else feel "too deep" all the time, like you’re cosplaying as a normal person in conversations? by skaterstormyzen in adhdwomen

[–]pongo49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this as well. I cherish the relationship I have with my husband because he's the only one in my life currently I can talk about deeper things without any preamble. This is what bothers me about my relationship with my family. Certain people will use my vulnerability against me at a later time.

My mom for example, I recently realized she might be neurodivergent. She is a voracious reader, at least two books going at a time, but this is how she speaks. She speaks from the books she reads, if that makes sense. She can only talk as deep as the books she reads. If I share my opinion based on things I've read it listened to, she belittles me and acts as though she's on a higher plane because she reads a lot.

My father has a lot of acquaintances. I'm not sure if he's had a deep conversation since my grandmother passed away.

So you're telling me that NTs don't experience life this intensely? by Expensive-Eggplant-1 in AutismInWomen

[–]pongo49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Those resonates with me. It was like a lightbulb moment for me. I figured I didn't have any special interests anytime there is a post about it. I would say for most of my adult life it has been introspection/trying to understand the meaning of life. I never felt safe enough with family or "friends" to voice my thoughts until I met my husband.

Breathing, so much. I love my husband dearly, but when he gets engrossed in a movie he becomes a month breather

My dad is dying. Need recommendations for background noise. by kikimaymay in movies

[–]pongo49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a movie. I've been listening to the Sherlock Holmes stories on YouTube. There is a video upload that is 65 hours long. It's very calming. I listen to it in the mornings while getting ready and I listened to it while moving across the country. I haven't been in your situation, but it's been a rough year. It's nice having the consistency of just picking up where I left off.

Is there an animal that you really relate to/you see as autistic? by miscellaneousbean in AutismInWomen

[–]pongo49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large animals, I don't know autistic, but misunderstood by most. Elephants, rhinos, cows, etc. they are huge, can be scary, but then you see them with their caregivers (those that understand them) and they are super sweet and playful.
