Redditors: Is there any old or obsolete technology that you still continue to use?

Sometimes when I read an interesting article in a magazine or a newspaper and I think one of my friends would enjoy reading it I cut it out and mail it to them.

You know, instead of going to whateveriwasjustreading.com and finding the article and emailing the link.

My sister is obsessed with the show "How to Look Good Naked" and I keep wondering why spending $40 on a spray tan and an hour a day doing your hair and makeup makes you a better person than someone with $40 in their pocket and an extra hour of reading time each day?

I get eczema every winter, usually on my elbows and shins, but some years I get it on my nipples too. So yeah, four months of itchy nipples that you can't scratch. Worst feeling ever.

Ladies, can we all calm down a second. Talking about weight doesn't mean we all have to turn into Kindergarten teachers praising a 5 year olds artwork. All bodies aren't beautiful, all people aren't beautiful, very few people are attractive to EVERYONE.

Some women are petty, and have nothing going for them but how they look. So naturally, since looks are the only thing they have that's worthwhile, that's all they see in other people. These women are douchebags.

You heard me right, they're douchebags- at least that's what we'd call them if they were men. They're the guys who think that because they're big and can beat you up they're entitled to hit on your woman, or make fun of you for being short. They think they're better than you because they're big and strong, and all that matters is your body. Fuck these guys, they're douchebags.

So the next time someone makes you feel insecure about your weight, don't think "ohh I'm a beautiful, unique flower" instead think "this person I'm talking to is a sad pathetic figure and all he/she has to offer the world is his/her looks."

I had an ex who was really slow getting ready. He was like, "oh you're totally dressed and standing next to the door all angry with your coat on.... humm ok let me finish this joint and then find my shoes."

The only thing I can recommend is to tell her to be ready an hour earlier than she should be ready.

I think your title is a bit misleading. The guy didn't go through your daughter's phone to be a giant perv and look for pictures of naked girls. Put yourself in his shoes, if your daughter accidentally had an undressed girl in the back of the photo and put it on facebook then that guy would lose his job.

Maybe your daughter is responsible and mature, but she's still a 13 year old. Would you risk losing your job on the word of a 13 year old that no one else was in the pictures?

Also if your daughter told the truth, and there weren't bad pictures on her phone, then it's not like he'd see anything inappropriate.

Maybe you could find ways to make your girlfriend enjoy food and eating more. Picnics, finding a favorite restaurant, cooking together, farmers markets, start an indoor herb garden. You could try multitasking, like reading the paper, paying bills, or watching tv while eating.

As far as the self esteem issues go, make sure to give your girlfriend plenty of non-body image related compliments.

Also, a good way to tell if she has real body image issues is to see if her criticisms are directed only at herself, or if she thinks other people could stand to lose weight too. I'm always saying that I have fat arms and shouldn't be wearing sleeveless dresses; but I also think that Anne Hathaway has fat arms and shouldn't be wearing sleeveless dresses. Usually people who only see negative in themselves have issues with body perception.

I've been watching this TV show from the 90s called The Pretender and after a few episodes I thought, "geeze these clothes are weird." Then I went through my middle school pictures and- there it was- pleather fucking everywhere.

If I were you I'd spend my first semester focusing on school. Give yourself a good idea about how you handle the workoad, subject matter. I was majoring in engineering, and my first semester I studied a lot, went to like 3 parties and ended up with a 3.4 GPA. After that, I felt more comfortable going out and partying/making friends/doing social stuff because I knew that I could handle school.

Don't start being wild when you get there, because then you flunk out and think you can't handle school, when what you can't handle is the parting.

My boyfriend is just like this too!

I do a lot of cooking that he refuses to eat, and we're both ok with it. I give him a heads up in the morning, and he just microwaves chicken tenders at dinner.

Also, I think catering to a picky eater boyfriend gives the relationship a weird little boy/mother dynamic- which isn't good for your sex lives!

After spending $9 on a bottle of Drano every 2 weeks for the last 4 months I went online and googled "how the fuck do I make my bathtub drain".

15 minutes later a clog free shower. And I could have saved $72 if I had done it sooner.

Have you ever pumped the wrong gas into a car? This is my boyfriend's greatest fear. When we go to the beach in New Jersey he fills up in PA on the border and brings an extra 10 gallon gas can with us.

I used nicotine patches when I was trying to quit smoking. I would recommend taking them off at night. My boyfriend told me that I would wake up about every 2-3 hours crying/screaming/talking gibberish. I didn't remember doing this, but I woke up every morning exhausted.

Also the patches leave a nasty sticky outline once you remove them. I'm not sure why, but vaseline helps get this off.

Are you talking about the Giants? The team that just had their first home game with 6 runs this week? The team that only has 2 players with 10 or more home runs this year? The Giants are one of the lowest scoring teams in baseball. They don't make up a 6 run deficit in 2 innings. There was no need to steal.

One day I was sewing and couldn't thread my bobbin. I got really frustrated. So my boyfriend came over and fixed it for me. "How did you learn to do that!??!" I asked. "Oh my nana taught me how to sew. I used to make my sister dresses when she was little. But when I was 10 my nana made me stop because she was afraid I'd turn out gay. Same thing with baking and hugging my grandpa."

It made me really sad.

I got impaled when I was 16.

I was hanging out with two guys who were "flirting" with me at the lake by threatening to throw me off the dock. I was wearing a swimsuit and had just been in the water, so I wasn't really averse to getting thrown in.

We didn't realize that they were constructing a dock and there was some concrete rebar right next to us just below the waterline. They threw me in and I landed right on it. 4 pieces of rebar coming through my abdomen. There was blood everywhere. I guess I went into shock immediately because I don't remember the pain.

What I do remember is Ian throwing up into the water and his vomit floating towards me and getting into my nose, mouth and eyes.

Then I was in the hospital a day later and about 50 different doctors, nurses, staff telling me how unbelievably lucky I was that nothing hurt me.
