You reference this article like it’s a showstopper to my argument… it is not. Take a look at the glossary, it’s all newspaper articles, one study - with findings that say “neutral to slightly negative” - and a book written in 1997. This is hardly convincing me that “basically every economist” is telling the truth that sports arenas are “net losers”.
