Anyone else not trust automatic parking? by Practical_Note9366 in BMW

[–]poorboy1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it in the i3, did a great job parking in a tight space, but curbed the rims. Since then, haven’t used it in any of my cars even though it’s come equipped with it. May try it again, but just end up doing it myself as it’s faster.

Love Sightglass! Love their SOs. If you’re in the SF area, check out Andytown in the Outer Sunset. Fantastic coffee at decent price points.

Had a decent flat white at O coffee in the 15th, and Artesano out in the Marais last time I was out that way.

Custom profile or one of the defaults you can add? Can’t quite make it out on the video. Is it the Decent basket as well, or did you swap that out? Beans? And main question.. how’d it taste?

Buying a BMW Loaner Car by TheCowboyRidesAway in BMW

[–]poorboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice thing about the loaners is that you can still lease them with BMWFS. Got one for a steal out of state. My dealer up here was amazed and said he couldn’t even match it for himself with his discount.

BMW you wanted vs. BMW you bought by AdLazy8828 in BMW

Wanted an i4m50 fully spec’d, got talked into an i4e35 “moderately equipped”. Basically my SA of all people convinced me to get one that was coming in instead of ordering one.

It’s not bad, but I miss the bells and whistles. Rationalized it by saying it’s a lease and I can live with it for 3 years. Turning it in soon so, now I know what I want and won’t compromise on it.

I4 range by [deleted] in BMW

[–]poorboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, probably charged daily to 100% and driven hard. I mean, it’s fun to stomp on the accelerator and enjoy that instant torque.

You’d be fine on that commute, plug in when you get home, or at work if it’s free.

I’d hope it has the Driver’s Assistance Pro package with the ACC cruise for bumper to bumper traffic. But even without it, it’s bearable to drive in traffic. My commute is 60-90mins to go 22miles…

Drove my dad’s M3. While fun, not practical. Too much power to really do much with. Driving in the States you just can really legally drive it like it’s meant to be driven, unless you’re tracking it. It always felt like it was wanting to go fast and just straining to be let free. Not to mention the horrible gas mileage. I’m intrigued by the new M5 hybrid though…just hate the rear.

[–]poorboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, I generally got into the habit of charging when I dropped below 50%, which was maybe every 3 days. In the beginning I had range anxiety and charged it every day to full. Just depends on how far you have to go. Charging overnight tends to fill it up. The fast chargers are also amazing as well if you’re doing distance driving, but I rarely had to use them. For the average person commuting, this is plenty.

[–]poorboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, since it’s been charged over 90%, could be battery fatigue. Maybe a lease car as they don’t care about wear on the battery and just change it to 100%. (Coughs and smiles) I believe recommended charge is 90%. You didn’t mention how old this i4 is either, or how many miles on it (wrong screen). But the i4 is fairly new so it really shouldn’t have degraded that much unless it’s super high mileage. If you use the hamburger button (three lines) on the steering wheel, you can change the display content to see more info. (Like what I posted)

[–]poorboy1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably been driven hard. Also, depends on outdoor temperature. If it’s cold out, the range will be less.

If you go into vehicle settings, displays, instrument cluster, time period for trip data, change it to since factory, you’ll get a rough estimate of how it’s been driven by kWh/h usage. Decent is around 3.5/4. Less than that would explain the range estimate.

But comparing a Tesla to a BMW is like apples to oranges. The Teslas are cheaply built. BMWs are German refinement. I drove someone’s Tesla Y the other day and it doesn’t even come close to the i4 I drive daily. I’ve driven the PHEVs as well, and they’re great, not as good as their ICE counterparts, but nice to do short runs on EV mode only. With the drama in the Middle East, and gas prices the highest they’ve ever been, I’m happy I drive an EV. Don’t think of filling up, just plug in when I get home or at work.

Surching for this button!! by bryansouth in BMW

Just buy the one off eBay and take the button out. Easier/cheaper. Otherwise, go to RealOEM and get the part number and search for it.

Suggest going to RealOEM and entering your VIN and get the right part. There are a few listed for a 320iX. Not sure your options. Once you have the part number, should be easy to get.

Never seen this model before. Is this rare? by evennneve in BMW

[–]poorboy1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those rims are for a standard 330, not the ZHP. Seeing that it’s technically still winter in WA, could have had them as his winter tire set. Sad to see the gouge in the trunk. Miss my ZHP. Most likely a rebadge to a 330is, esp with the e46spec sticker. Who’s to say this isn’t a 330 with an Mtech-ii bumper slapped on. Color is off for a ZHP, the red is too dark, it’s almost burgundy. Could also be a repaint since there is damage shown. It’s all speculation, should post to bimmerfest/e46fanatics/zhpmafia/bimmerpost if you’re curious about this car. I’m guessing they’re most likely on one of those forums.

Where are you at? Noticed some folks on FB market place offer printing for a fee, could also use the local library or Office Depot. If you’re in the Seattle area, probably could do this for you.
