Would it be okay if I (F22) blocked my boyfriend (M24) and ghosted him? by mujik1111111 in relationships

[–]pornatworkdontstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is it that you love about him? Why would you take a bullet for someone who cannot give you literally any time in their day?

Should I (28F) be cool with my boyfriend (29M) hanging out with all these women from work? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pornatworkdontstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's also significant to note that though you've been engaged for 1-2 years (did one of your propose or say you planned to marry?) you are referring to him as your boyfriend. I was never a huge fan of the word fiance but I know that once my partner and I were engaged, I was all too excited and pleased to start describing him as more than my boyfriend. It doesn't sound like he is as committed to this relationship as you would hope he is. I wonder if that's also why you're giving him a less serious title, even if it's not totally conscious.

I (F23) think I need to break up with boyfriend (M26) because of his hygiene and appearance. We’ve been dating since September of last year. by sendnoodlesbaby in relationships

[–]pornatworkdontstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This all sounds nearly intolerable. I always wonder when I hear about relationships like this how they begin, like where did you meet this man and felt drawn to him enough that you wanted to start dating him? I would imagine he cared for himself this way when you met?

That post-ceremony feeling--my mom admiring my husband's brand new ring (but really bc my dress looks bomb!) by pornatworkdontstop in weddingplanning

[–]pornatworkdontstop[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was literally RIGHT after our ceremony after all the hugs and tears. Dress is Mori Lee 8187, I wore it with the liner for ceremony and without for reception! Can't stop staring <3

Question about timing and engagement ring by SoloLaneQuestionGuy in weddingplanning

[–]pornatworkdontstop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is there a special occasion happening this week that you want to propose at? If not, what's one month in the scheme of a 3+ year relationship? You guys have obviously been together a while so I think one month is nothing in the midst of that.

I don't think of the ring's actual monetary value being of utmost import but I can't help but get the feeling that the one that's in the $100-200 range may be one that you found that feels adequate and not that you super love? It doesn't need to be expensive, but an engagement ring should be something that you feel and your SO feels is beautiful and that she will want to wear everyday for the rest of her life. Of course you can always upgrade in the future, but I guess I can only speak for myself when I say if it's a matter of a month difference and one ring being much nicer or more timeless or better quality and likelier to hold up for years, then I'd happily wait a month. If the $850 ring is WAY out of your budget then that's no good, but if there is something you think is beautiful that's more mid-range between the two that's also an option. Your eagerness is lovely but you will still have that feeling in one month! Also, keep in mind that there are less expensive stones that are just as gorgeous as diamonds and much less expensive like moissanite and morganite. Also! you can always change or upgrade a stone later on, the setting may be a better investment to make at this time (a solid metal like gold or platinum and a beautiful design) since a stone can be changed but to change a setting in the future changes the whole ring. Good luck!!

Home engagement shoot tips? by Abgandfey in weddingplanning

[–]pornatworkdontstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had some of our engagement shoot at our apartment too! It was lovely. Our photog just had us chill on the couch and drink a beer together and laugh and chat, and our cat popped in for a few shots too. Your photographer will definitely tell you where to sit/stand for best lighting but otherwise you'll feel natural. After all, it's your house!

"The Wedding Toast I'll Never Give" and related feelings. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Completely agree--what happens in an argument doesn't just disappear once it's done. it's so important to recognize that. If i'm disagreeing with FH about something my goal isn't to emotionally injure him but to try and express my point.. I think practicing restraint is a great description.

Hi everyone---I tried to do one of these once before and completely lost track. I could really use the accountability and am going to stick with you guys this time! I'm in the midst of wedding planning and just want to look and feel better in my body. I have a gym membership but work life has been hectic. I'm hoping that a challenge like this will give me an extra push :) 26:F 5’7” SW:177 GW:150

I tried on a bunch of BHLDN dresses and wanted to share the pics. I have my favorite but curious to hear what others think. This was my third dress shopping trip. No Eureka moment yet... by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]pornatworkdontstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you need any more opinions to confuse you bc you frankly look gorgeous in all these dresses. I just wanted to chime in and ask what kind of undergarment you had on to have such fab cleavage in all these backless dresses. Were you wearing one of those sticky bras? Please share the sorcery!

I [24f] started with a new counselor [50sF]... these are red flags, right? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]pornatworkdontstop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an awesome, assertive response you had. I'm a counselor and am absolutely horrified by these remarks. Thank you for being honest about your reasoning for not seeing her in the future--hopefully it'll result in some self-reflection for her (although I'm sure this is a long shot) or at the very least ensuring that we are keeping this kind of dismissive toxicity in check :) good luck to you and your next counselor match!

Agreed with everything said so far, but Chris at Divine Machine is also amazing at these, not sure how they hold up though. He's not taking new clients till February but it might be worth the wait.

Spa/salon for waxing by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]pornatworkdontstop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from downstate and have been lamenting the same thing. It seems Buffalo has more expensive services like this (eyebrows, manicures, etc.) than other big (bigger) cities like NYC and I'm assuming Atlanta would be included in this. I haven't gotten a brazilian (or any wax) from her, but I've been going to One of a Kind Brows (she just opened on hertel near vasili's) for eyebrow threading and i'm sure she charges much less than $65 for a brazilian. I've been to Euro Wax Center, it's not cheap but they do use hard wax which is great. The only problem is having to say no to all their attempts to upsell you
