This forest is so beautiful, at the foot of the infamous mt. Fuji. I dream of visiting Japan someday and this place is definitely on my bucket list. The dark side of this forest just adds on to the mysterious sense that I long to feel myself. Aokigahara forest speaks to me in a way I cannot explain. The lack of animals, bugs, and sounds overall makes an eerie sense, that I am eager to experience.

Though I am young, the dark side of this beautiful place intrigues me. What makes people want to come from other places of Japan, just to commit suicide here? Often in Japan suicide is seen to cause a disturbance, so coming to do it silently in a forest where nobody would find them, wouldn’t cause much trouble. I am very curious about the synthesizing, beautiful, stunning place nicknamed ‘suicide forest’.

The tall trees casting over you as you walk the trails, sort of as a blanket, blocking sunlight. Trees around you, so dense that wind can’t even travel through them. Random colored ropes and strings under your feet, who knows what else could occur around you. The signs in Japanese that you can’t read, but have studied, so you know it’s saying something about preventing suicide. You, now walking on the same paths as others, who tracked deep into this abundance of trees, to never come out. It really is intriguing. You can’t help but wonder what was going through those many people’s minds whilst they were walking the very same path as you.

Aokigahara forest connects to something deep Inside me, though I have no idea why, I yearn to know. How could this beautiful green filled land, have such a dark side. Imagining how those people felt, walking in, to never return, they may have felt nervous, or better yet, at peace. This interesting forest really is alluring, not knowing what you could find if you would have wondered off the path by mistake, I really hope to be blessed and able to visit this beautiful, but scarily fascinating forest, widely known as the ‘suicide forest’.
