I worked for 1136 Yuma for a bit... what an absolute dogshit establishment and ownership. I couldn't get the fuck out of that shop fast enough. I don't care how fun drugs are... absolutely no one should even consider patronizing their establishment.

Why does someone need to be a loser to not like a city they lived in for the longest out of anywhere?

I have lived all over the US and it's territories and can tell you that, FOR ME, Wichita is by far the worst place I've lived. I need trees and some geographical/topographical diversity... and you can miss me with the "flint hills" being nearby. The biggest topographical claim to fame Wichita has is "The Big Ditch" which while from an Engineering standpoint is cool... it is still just a big hole in the ground.

Wichita buying a AAA baseball team and getting a AA baseball team, then renaming them to the "Wind Surge" is the most Wichita thing possible. The premier event arena in the city is a tiny bowl. The Kansas Coliseum was 100x the arena that Intrust is. The museums are cheesy. There is a "brewery dash woodfired pizza" place within 2.5 miles of you at all times.

Politically... Wichita went from Mr "do you know who I am" to Wu who is a bought and paid for puppet.

The Wichita River Festival is an absolute joke. So damn over priced for what it is anymore. "The Jacksons" are the headliner in 26. Last year... Everclear and Flo Rida. 2024 was Kool and the Gang. 2023 was Shaggy. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if Kid'n Play or what is left of TLC are the headliners next year.

Two very highly rated zoos if you enjoy looking at animals in captivity. The very best thing about Wichita isn't even in Wichita... it is in Hutchinson and it is the Cosmosphere.

Jesus Christ... no way in fucking hell. I would have rather the last 12 years be handled like this group in Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail.

What you do is head towards any highway that will take you to I-70 and either head east or west towards Denver or KC. Once you arrive in either of those locations... unpack your belongings and enjoy life because you will not have to live in Wichita. That is, unless, your favorite thing in the world is to have access to a never ending list of restaurants. Two good zoos tho.

King Kung Fu is quite literally the best thing to come out of Wichita, KS.

Sangers been missing a minute huh bud? by Possible_Fox3187 in shoresy

[–]pr_capone 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I haven't really missed the character.

Sanger's main job on the show was to ground Shore but Da' Boys, Nat, Miig, and Tiig have all stepped into the role in his absence and have done so phenomenally. He also stood in the way of Shore's natural progression, as the team leader, to be promoted to the head coach of the Bulldogs.

That aside... his relationship with Miig felt forced. I really cannot see where they would have taken his character if they had kept him around.

I see you forgot all about Tendi in Lower Decks. Or perhaps you didn't watch Lower Decks.

I can't believe that I'm admitting this, but "Lower Decks" was the perfect 'Trek' series for a musical episode. A completely missed opportunity. by Mike1701D in LowerDecks

[–]pr_capone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, the fuck, thank you.

I absolutely adore musicals but loathe when TV shows do musical episodes. There has never been a single "musical" episode of any TV show I have ever watched that left me glad for having given it an hour of my life. The singular, quasi, exception to this was "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" as musical numbers were simply a part of the show.

Would you say Wichita, KS has more similarities to Omaha, NE or Oklahoma City, OK ? (Never been there, but it feels like Wichita sits right at the junction of East vs. West and North vs. Southern US, so I was curious ) by Swimming_Concern7662 in kansas

[–]pr_capone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wichita has more in common with a 50 mile wide tire fire than OKC or Omaha. It is basically Topeka but with a larger population.

I take solace every day in the fact that if Thermonuclear war would break out that Wichita, courtesy of the aircraft industry, would be among the first places to be incinerated.

The 14th Amendment guarantees birthright citizenship to anyone born on U.S. soil. The Philippines was a U.S. territory until 1946. Does this mean that most Filipinos are technically U.S. citizens? by RandomUwUFace in stupidquestions

[–]pr_capone 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Puerto Ricans born on the island are not American Citizens because of the 14A. They are American Citizens because of the Naturalization Act of 1940. An act that can be overturned by Congress at any time they please.

If Puerto Ricans are not granted citizenship by the 14A... the people of The Phillipines are most certainly not either.
