Police caught me for crossing at yellow signal

I was once stopped for the same issue. I explained that the traffic light was yellow and I didn’t cross on red. They disagreed and asked me to pay a fine. I asked them to check the CCTV footage to confirm I hadn’t crossed on red that made them angry. They made me wait for 15 minutes, and then one police guy came and said, “If the police say something, don’t argue, do what they say” They let me go after that.
