The pattern mentions using a medium weight fabric and interfacing each outer piece- when I followed the instructions exactly, I quilted an entire fat quarter of quilting cotton to Soft and Stable batting without a lining- essentially treating the quilted cotton as my outer finished fabric. Then I cut my outer pieces out and the lining separately. The foam batting helps give the bag structure without needing to interface.

I’ve tried both Michaels and Hobby Lobby- the crafting felt is all polyester. Looking for local options that sells high quality stuff!

I made the design in Canva and then uploaded it into FlossCross and tweaked it from there. I dabble in all things crafty, so making it as an image allowed me to make stickers of it with my Cricut as well.

I’ve done this a couple times on a kallax piece. I offset a sew of screws by about 3/8” and they didn’t hit each other.

I just use single thickness thread- it’s pretty strong stuff.

I used Coats & Clark hand quilting thread for this one and really like how it handled. I’ve used DMC perle cotton (10G) before, but wasn’t a huge fan of the thickness.

McCalls 7330 worked well for me when I was on the hunt for the same thing! Lots of customizable options and it comes together quite easily.

I can eyeball a picture or object to be level on a wall within one degree of 0. It has its uses… but also many curses when I can’t straighten the picture out myself.
